PYP CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DAY
PYP International Day is one of the educative presentations made by
the students of each class in RBKIA‟s PYP section. Choosing a country
each they celebrate it by studying its geography, history, art, culture
and music. The children enthusiastically join in together to decorate,
dance, sing, and act out their countries‟ special customs and social
behavior.
PYP
Parents visit and admire the children‟s displays. They applaud the
music performances that students proudly present and everyone cheers
the day!

Exquisite models and informative charts adorn the classrooms and are explained
by children. Many are surprised at the knowledge and information they learnt
during this global study.

From around the world, costumes and cultural performances, „make the day
…….enjoyable and unforgettable .A day well spent!‟, as we all do agree.

 It was an amazing experience for us. We learnt a lot of “NEW ZEALAND” that I admit,
we didn‟t know of before. Our next vacation is definitely going to be “New Zealand”
- V.R. Parmeswaran- father of Advait - K1-A
 Japan clearly stole the show. It's by far the best I have seen. There was so much attention
to detail. The 5 year olds have gotten better and more comfortable speaking in front an
audience. Congratulations K2A!!

 The preparation for the International Day was as fun as the day itself! The way children
were learning about the country (Spain), their enthusiasm in the music, language, dance
etc. and specially in sharing all their learning at home was amazing. The day itself was
great - amazing hard work and creativity in the class. The constant performance kept all
engaged. The food was great as well all the charts, props, models etc. It's a good concept.
Thanks

 The introduction of Greece was very specific and clearly presented by each child of the
class. The play conveyed the right story to depict the history of Lord Zeus.
The song was very entertaining. The kids enjoyed while they were singing.
The parade was the best with the hula hoop displayed. On the food counter it was just
apt with salad and dessert. It was a nice experience to visit Greece in class 3 A guided by
Ms. Priyanka Nair with the display of the children performance with confidence.
- Neha Dharmani (parent of Raghav Dharmani 3 A)
 International day gives good insight to kids of the particular country including culture,
geography, etc. The efforts of the teachers and kids are commendable. The class was
very well decorated ,kids presented song, skit and dance perfectly. It was very well
coordinated. Overall very impressive!

 "Words cannot explain the efforts and dedication you all put forward to make this event a
great success. Congrats to all teachers and children who spent many days practicing and
making it happen. The mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior
teacher demonstrates but the greatest teacher inspires. And the kids have truly been,
inspired."
-
Monica Gada (Mother to Dhairya Gada) - Grade 5
 Excellent display of Portugal‟s culture and tradition, food and costumes, festivals and
dances. The class was decorated beautifully and the food was delicious. Hats off to the

TRINITY SPEECH & DRAMA EXAMINATION
O
n 06 March 2015, I sat for the TRINITY SPEECH & DRAMA
EXAMINATION.
I was assessed on:
A passage

A poem

An improvisation (topic given by the examiner)

Reading a book

Theory
Under the guidance of Ms Meenaa Sampat, I had organized myself to comment on:

A passage from a story: Little Women

A poem : Macavity the Mystery Cat

A book: Little Princess for reading
I had to make a file which included all the work I did during the preparations for this examination.
The best part of this examination was while preparing for it, I learnt about the different types of
pauses, why we need to pause and what role they play in our communication. I must say that I
enjoyed and also learnt a lot while preparing for this examination.
On the day of this examination, there were butterflies in my stomach! The examiner was an
amiable lady and helped to me relax during the examination. I discovered that I was no more
nervous in the process! I secured 87%! However, I will try my level best to achieve more in the
examinations in future!

arewell. The most bittersweet word.
Everybody looks forward to moving on in life, yet it's sad to leave a place that makes up a huge part
of your life.
We had a farewell party for the graduating batch of grade 12.
It was on the 17th April 2015. It was amazing organising everything, It was absolutely overwhelming to
think of the word "Farewell" as it would mean saying goodbye. Thus, we put in our best efforts to make
this party a success as this was something even more special than usual. It felt great to see everybody enjoy
the music and food, even more amazing to see all the teachers and students so dressed up! We put up a
photo booth and had a special show of awards for grade 12. It was something unique and i guess that's what
our batch is about. we enjoy uniqueness more than anything. It also made me think about our own farewell.
how would it be? What will we do? How will we feel?
Only time will tell. Till then, wishing the batch of 2015 a heartfelt congratulations! You made it!

raduation is one-day that everyone waits for but at the same time regret, as they don‟t have
the heart to leave. On the 17th of April the DP 2 students had their Graduation Day. It was a
very emotional day for all of us because it was time for them to leave school. But we the DP 1
students as well as the teachers put in a lot of effort to make this day memorable. It started off with
a prayer, which we had prepared and then the students were awarded with certificates. After the
certificates were awarded we performed a song called „I‟ll never walk alone‟ for the DP 2 students.
To make this event more enjoyable we made a video for the DP 2 students, which had a lot of
memories from the very beginning. When we played the video there were smiles on each of their
faces. Vikram performed for all of us for the last time and his performance was breathtaking. Soon
it was time for Vikram‟s speech. That was the moment where all of us got very emotional and
thought to ourselves about how much we are going to miss these guys. It‟s funny how all of us
have gotten so close to each other in such less time. After the entire ceremony ended all of us had a
photo session where the all the DP teachers along with the DP1 students clicked plenty of pictures
with the DP 2 students. This school is surely going to miss this batch as we have so many
wonderful memories with them.

oday on 22nd April we the students of IBDP 1 had our final TOK Presentations. We had been
working on TOK since a while now and the presentation day had finally arrived. We all had
very different and interesting topics. Everyone did a very good job and the hard work was shown.
For our theory of knowledge presentation we had to first find out a real life situation and then
based on that form our knowledge question. We had to mention the areas of knowledge and ways
of knowing. Then we had to move forward explain the connection between our real life situation
and out knowledge question. Counter arguments had to be included as well. The end would be with
a conclusion and it had to be open ended. TOK holds one point in our final IB points and plays a
crucial role. It was a new experience for us all and we got to learn a lot. We developed better
understanding for how we know what we know.
