A
chieving more together! This is the motto of our production day this year and every
year. Teachers and students of the Primary Department at RBK International
Academy prepared a musical, a slightly different take on the two popular Fairy Tales "Snow
White" and "Sleeping Beauty". “Of Princesses and Princes” featuring songs like “Once upon a
dream” and “Some day my Prince will come”, performed solely by the young musicians, actors
and dancers of the primary school.
The annual production day helps us celebrate the performing arts and its vital contribution to
children‟s education and to promote a balanced learning environment where children learn the
importance of teamwork and discipline. Performing in front of a large audience requires
courage and
is an invaluable learning experience for children because it promotes self-
confidence, creative thinking skills and a sense of occasion that will serve them in whatever
profession they may choose one day.

SEEDS OF AWARENESS
O
n 25th March 2015, all the girls from grades 6th, 7th, and 8th, were asked to attend a session on
„Seeds of Awareness‟. We were anxiously waiting to
know what the session was about and what is it, that we will
learn something new today. We were introduced to a
gynecologist, Dr. Gauri Gore, who gave a brief introduction on
what she was going to do and present to the students today. She
had questioned us if we knew why she was here. While her
presentation was loading, she gave us a rundown on what she
was going to do. Her first few slides were on puberty and what we should expect during the
adolescence phase. Then, she informed in details about various hormonal changes, what they do,
and why they do what they do. She also enlightened as how they might change the way we think
and feel. She created awareness amongst girls as how to defend ourselves in case somebody tries to
molest us. She told us about how our bodies might change and how to keep our personal hygiene
intact. Then, she asked us if we had any questions to which we replied, none. The teachers left us
alone with the gynecologist so that we are not uncomfortable in asking any sorts of questions. We
all asked our queries and she willingly resolved them. Over all, the entire session did create a lot of
awareness within us since there have been times where in we behave indifferent and we do not
know the reason. I am thankful to our school- RBK International Academy (Chembur) for giving
us this opportunity to explore ourselves through this session.
