These booths will be informative and educational with demonstrations, visuals, hands-on activities, and experts ready to share their knowledge with inquisitive minds. 9:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Group Rotations Join us for this year’s Youth Field Day & Expo at the UF/IFAS Range Cattle Research and Education Center. Our goal is to excite students about agriculture and science, reveal future opportunities in those areas, and foster a love of learning which promotes agriculture and good stewardship in this and future generations. Each June, this field day is held at the Center, specifically structured for students ages 8-18. Check-in opens at 8:00 a.m. with participants gathering under the tent for the opening kickoff of the event at 9:00 a.m. Here group leaders will be introduced and everyone will split into their groups (Red A, Red B, Blue A, Blue B, Green A, Green B) then travel to their first station. Groups will be guided through the morning rotations by their group leaders visiting each of the six structured learning stations. A light snack and drink will be provided mid-morning during one of the class stations and lunch will be served in a split schedule with the ‘A’ groups eating at 12:35 and the ‘B’ groups eating at 1:15. During and after lunch, the expo will be open. Travel 5 miles on 663 and turn right onto Goose Pond Road. *Travel 1.5 miles and turn left onto Experiment Station Road. Travel about a mile to reach the Range Cattle REC facilities. UF/IFAS Range Cattle Research and Education Center From Arcadia Travel west on SR 70 to CR 661. Take a right on CR 661 and travel about 12 miles to Goose Pond Road. Take a left on Goose Pond Road (see Ona instructions at *). From Bradenton From the junction of I-75 and SR 64 travel east to CR 663 in Ona and use the directions above to reach the Center.
