Position Description Manager, Knowledge Management and Research March 31, 2015 Summary Rebuilding Together’s national office seeks a Manager of Knowledge Management and Research to work closely with the Senior Manager of Knowledge Management and Research providing a broad range of research, communications, and marketing support to Rebuilding Together and its affiliate network. The manager will focus on improving data collection and usage, increasing efficiency, and developing and delivering communications and marketing materials. Candidates with experience in supporting organizational change are desired. Essential Functions As a core member of the team, the manager will work across the department’s functions, which include communications, marketing, community engagement, and knowledge management and research. The Manager of Knowledge Management and Research’s functions include, but are not limited, to the following: Affiliate Engagement o Work closely with the Affiliate Services department to fulfill communications and research requests from the affiliate network o Assist with communications and marketing inquiries o Assist with securing technical specifications for new constituent relations management and content management systems o Oversee research and communications content to the affiliate resource center Content creation o Develop reports, e.g. State of the Network Report (based on annual survey) Data Analysis o Facilitate an objective understanding of the Rebuilding Together enterprise o Uncover new insights about the inputs and outputs of the organization Data Management o Collect, extract, transform, and load data to the organizational database Information Resources o In conjunction with the communications manager, respond to [email protected] and [email protected] inquires Knowledge Management o Support senior manager in creating a knowledge management infrastructure, building a knowledge culture, and communicating the return on investment o Ensuring consistent and current content on all portals of knowledge used by staff and affiliates to enable them to more effectively do their jobs on a day to day basis Marketing Reports o Track and catalogue brand impressions and brand placements and produce regular report results The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual(s) assigned to this job. Research o Assist with internal research and data inquiries o Assist with market research Social Media o Assist communications manager with monitoring social media and news for affiliate stories to highlight and listening to the social media conversation to inform our strategies o Provide key stats to use in social media Administrative duties as requested Supervisory Responsibilities None Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in sociology and/or related field with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience Experience in fields related to Rebuilding Together’s mission preferred Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Experience in geographic information system software, preferably QGIS Experience in business intelligence software, preferably Tableau Familiarity with statistical software, preferably R Familiarity with constituent relationship management systems, preferably Salesforce Familiarity with content management systems, preferably Drupal Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop reports and communicate with a wide variety of audiences Demonstrated analytical skills to manage many moving parts Strong sense of intellectual curiosity Ability to listen to various stakeholders Ability to be both methodical and creative in thinking Ability to bring coherence to large volumes of information Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with the senior management, Rebuilding Together’s board of directors, and staff; Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
