RED DEER CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATION
2015 APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING AWARDS
The Red Deer Construction Association and the Scholarship Committee have created the
Training Awards for employees of member companies. Contributions for these awards are
made possible from social activities held by the association along with financial help from
the association.
These awards are designed to recognize the excellence of employees of member companies
of the association that are in a construction trade.
We encourage recipients to complete their apprenticeship!
AWARDS


Awards are valued at $500.00 each
Additional $1000.00 awards will be handed out to an apprentice (s) showing
academic excellence.
ELIGIBILITY
(AN EMPLOYEE OF A MEMBER COMPANY OF THE RED DEER CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATION)
Applicants for the Red Deer Construction Association Apprenticeship Training Awards must
be:





An Alberta resident for a period of 1 year prior to application
Registered as an Alberta apprentice in a construction trade
Returning to an RDCA member employer after their technical training
Successful in completing at least one period of Alberta Apprenticeship technical
training during the past year
Academic achievement (to include official attendance & both AIT and classroom
marks)
Of the awards to be awarded annually, the following criteria will be considered:



Employer recommendations (must be completed and signed)
Have a financial need
Applicant is registered in a trade with more than one period of technical training
APPLICATION AND AWARDS PROCESS



Deadline for the applications must be received at the RDCA office by 4:00pm
August 7th, 2015. (No Exceptions). All Applications will be authorized with a date
stamp showing that they have been received. It is the responsibility of the applicant
to follow up with the RDCA office to ensure their application has been received.
The RDCA Scholarship Committee consisting of RDCA Board members, will review
applications and decide on recipients by the 2nd week in September.
The Award presentation will be held in mid-September at the Red Deer Construction
Association office. For those who are unable to attend the presentation we ask that
you make arrangements prior to the event. We would also like to extend an
invitation to those accepting awards to our Annual General Meeting in February. We
will contact you prior to the meeting to confirm.
