This FREE program is made possible by the Giants Community Fund and the City of Redding. Summer baseball for boys and girls 5-13 years
of age (age as of July 1, 2015) promotes skill and character development in a recreational atmosphere. This instructional baseball program
features the Four Bases of Character Development (integrity, teamwork, leadership, and confidence) and will require your involvement in summer reading, healthy eating, and violence prevention. Parent volunteers are needed to manage and coach teams, and assist with team responsibilities and field/facility maintenance.
Teams will be formed into the following age groups:
• 5-7 years old* (Tee Ball) *Note: Players must be at least 5 years old by 7/01/15
• 7-8 years old (Coach Pitch) *Note: This division is for 7 year olds who have coach pitch experience and 8 year olds who are not ready for
pitching machine speed.
• 8-10 years old (Pitching Machine)
• 11-13 years old (Pitching Machine)
Registration will begin March 9th. This is a Two-Step Process:
Step I: Register with Redding Recreation, online at
www.reddingrecreation.org. If you do not have internet access, a public computer for online registration is available
at the Recreation Office (1250 Parkview Avenue).
2 Step 2: After registering with Redding Recreation, you will be provided a receipt number and a web address to
complete your registration with Jr. Giants.
Both steps must be completed to ensure registration in the program.

Coach will contact participants: by June 6
The “First Pitch” Meeting (player and parent orientation):
June 19 at the Redding Aquatic Center. Meet your coach, visit each information table, and take a dip in the pool. The
time will be indicated on the registration receipt from Redding Recreation.
Practice may begin: June 20 (Weekdays & Saturdays). The coach will determine schedule.
League games: July 13-August 15, 2015
