Local capacity is improved to increase competitiveness of the tourism industry. A regional value chain analysis is conducted. Mardin’s tourism potential will be promoted. As a result: • • Budget: €9,2million Timeline: 2013 – 2015 Beneficiary: Governorate of Mardin • • • • • A sustainable tourism development strategy and action plan is developed and will be implemented. A management plan will be prepared and a governance structure will be proposed. Ten travel packages produced. An online tourism portal will be deployed. At least 100 SMEs and 100 civil servants will be trained on service quality. Promotion materials will be developed. An international conference will be held. Delegation of the EU to Turkey Regional Competitiveness Operational Programme 19 " The World's First Temple" Roof canopies in Göbeklitepe will be constructed. The 58 and Reji Squares will be revitalized. A self-sustainable tourism governance structure will be established. A new Public – Private Partnership model in tourism sector will be introduced. Şanlıurfa tourism potential will be promoted. New jobs will be created.
