Make a revision timetable
Revision timetables reduce stress as they make
sure you have set aside plenty of time to revise
all of your subjects. Having a structure to follow
makes it much easier.

Create a revision file
Develop a file of revision notes that is divided
into sections. Your revision file should eventually
include as a one-page summary of each topic
you need to revise.

T ry out a variety of revision techniques
Everyone’s learning style is different so try
a number of different ones such as spider
diagrams, cue cards, making lists, using key
words instead of sentences. Some techniques
may work better for different subjects.

Take regular breaks
Make sure you take regular breaks and build
these into your timetable. Make a cup of tea or
go for a short walk to clear your head before
you start revising again.

Drink lots of water
Water not only keeps you hydrated, it
significantly improves your memory and
concentration. Drinking plenty of water will also
stop you getting headaches, something you
definitely want to avoid in the exam.

Eat healthy food
It is important to eat a healthy diet in the lead
up to the exams, as well as on the day, to stay
healthy as well as more alert. Make sure you
also have a decent breakfast to give you
energy at the start of the day.

Get plenty of sleep
Try to get the recommended 8 hours of sleep
a night during the exam period, not just on
the night of the exam. Your performance both
while you’re revising and in the exam will suffer
if you’re tired.

Don’t over do it!
It is important to spend time doing activities
that you enjoy and are not revision related. This
will help you to stay focused on your revision
timetable and to not feel overwhelmed.
