New Faces
Roxanne Brecke is a Viniyoga Wellness Instructor-In-Training
who will teach at the ADRC from January – April 13 for Mary.
Bill Miller is a Viniyoga Wellness Instructor-In-Training who
will team-teach with Mary on Wednesday mornings for 7 am
and 8:15 am classes. Watch for additional teachers and
times starting in March.

Most River Flow Yoga classes will be moving to a new
westside location either Feb 1 or March 1. We’ll keep you

River Flow Yoga offers you the tools you need for physical, mental, and emotional health and wellness. Each
welcoming class space will allow you to discover the power of your breath, body & mind as building blocks for selfdiscovery and transformation. Please bring your mat and blanket to class.
The practices will be tailored to your individual needs, whether you are a desk dweller, athlete, active adult or
overscheduled individual; monitoring an injury, experiencing tense muscles or interested in challenging postures and
the modifications available. Arrive to class early to share needs with the teacher.
Class Series Descriptions:
Yoga for Arthritis. Keep active and stay strong with this gentle-on-the-joints yoga practice adapted for your needs.
Viniyoga is a breath-centered yoga practice that balances stability with flexibility, respecting the unique needs of
people with arthritis. Improve mobility, reduce pain and feel your best.
Yoga for Balance & Strength. Energize, build strength, improve balance and age gracefully with this gentle yoga
program. Viniyoga is adapted for your needs. Use yoga postures and simple breathing practices to ease into spring
and prepare for summer activities.
Yoga Back, Hips, & Knees Self-Care. Explore the tools of yoga for cultivating strong roots and core - a healthy back,
hips, knees and feet. Ease pain and tension and gain strength and flexibility. Grow confident in yoga self-care tools
that are adapted for you.
Yoga Back, Neck & Shoulders Self-Care. Ease pain and tension that accumulates in the back, neck and shoulders.
Increase strength to improve posture and reduce pain caused by misalignment in the back, neck and shoulders. Grow
confident in yoga self-care tools that are adapted for you.
Yoga Strength, Balance & Back Care. Explore the possibilities that your body and mind possess in this class geared to
help you progressively gain strength and balance. Strengthen feet, ankles, legs, hips and back. Unwind tension in the
upper back, neck and shoulders.
Awakening Flow. Better breathing, increased mobility and a focused mind. Hand weights will be used occasionally to
increase strength work and keep bones & joints healthy. Deepen your practice by being mindful of what is best for
you: foundational postures fine-tuned, modifications shared while more complexity within asanas offered. Link breath
to movements to wake up and move into your day with intention, balance and clarity.
Sunrise Yoga. Yes, we’ll salute the sun, yet there is so much more! Breath-centered, intelligent sequencing - offering
core strengthening, balance postures and vinyasa flow - will bring you into focus with steady energy for your day.
Specific practices will be done to prepare body and mind for pranayama (seated breathing practice). Occasionally on
Fridays we’ll deepen our practice with the study of ancient texts and call & response use of mantra through chants.
The 5 Koshas model invites you to nourish all the layers of your being: Body, Breath, Mind, Personality & Heart.
Slow, Strong Viniyoga Flow. Breathe, Flow, Stretch, Strengthen. Turn down the stress-o-meter with the power of
your breathing to guide you through a fluid sequence of asanas (postures). Slow is strong and your physical and
mental balance will prevail.
Yoga for Stress Relief. Managing stress is vital to your overall health. Sharpen your yoga ‘tools’ on the mat so your
ability to breathe, stay calm & live life with a clear perspective is experienced with more ease off the mat. Increase the
quality of family time, work experiences and favorite activities.
Yoga for Better Sleep Webinar Series. Come in your pajamas to this webinar series that you participate in from the
comfort of your home. This course includes education about yoga for sleeplessness, audio practices, practice
handouts, and an individualized phone consult. You will need a computer with audio or a phone with a speaker to
participate in the series. Register by January 8.
Yoga Breathing for Anxiety & Stressful Times Webinar Series. Come in your pajamas to this webinar series that you
participate in from the comfort of your home. This course includes education about yoga for anxiety, panic and stress,
audio practices, practice handouts, and an individualized phone consult. You will need a computer with audio or a
phone with a speaker to participate in the series. Register by March 5.
