privacy and personal attention without being obtrusive. We offer three private function suites which can
accommodate 20-220 guests.

The I Do’s
CIVIL WEDDING CEREMONIES & CIVIL PARTNERSHIPS
The Riviera Hotel is the perfect venue for your Civil Ceremony. We offer a choice of two licensed rooms, each full of
warmth, character and natural day light. The Civil Ceremony usually lasts between 30 to 40 minutes, depending upon
your requirements. The ceremony can be enhanced with your own music selections and readings. Please check with
the Registrar as there are guidelines in place.
The Conservatory Restaurant
The Britannic Suite
Is the larger of our two rooms with
beautiful sea views. Perfect for larger
weddings, it can accommodate up to 140
guests.
Tastefully decorated, the Britannic suite is
ideal for intimate weddings and suitable
for up to 70 guests

Rooms
ACCOMMODATION
The Riviera Hotel has 70 bedrooms. Every room has an en-suite bathroom, WIFI and tea and coffee making facilities.
Some rooms have beautiful sea views with a private balcony. Once you have booked your wedding, your bridal room
will be reserved and a maximum of 10 rooms may be booked by your wedding guests. We regret we cannot hold or
set aside 10 rooms for this purpose. Rooms are subject to availability and as we cannot guarantee that they will be
available, early booking is advisable.

The Evening Buffet
Evening wedding receptions typically start at 7.30pm. Our Mauretania Suite can cater for up to 200 people and
features a large private bar and dance floor. We can also recommend our resident DJ, who will entertain your party
until late!

1.
CONFIRMATION OF BOOKINGS AND PAYMENT
A booking will only be considered as confirmed when the Hotel has received payment of the non-refundable deposit of £500 (or such
other amount as may be agreed) and a signed copy of these Terms and Conditions. Where a client has in place approved credit
facilities with the Hotel, a booking will be confirmed on receipt by the Hotel of written confirmation of the booking from the Client.
The balance of the confirmed value is payable no less than 14 days prior to the date of the event. The confirmed value is the total
amount of the agreed charges as stated in the Hotel’s confirmation letter. Where the confirmed booking has been made on behalf
of another party, the person or company making the booking (“the Client”) will be liable for all payments and costs unless expressly
agreed otherwise by the Hotel in writing. Where more than one person signs this contract, they accept joint and several liability
hereunder,

CANCELLATIONS
In the event of a booking being cancelled, the deposit will be forfeited and the following charges will be made:

3.
VARIATION OF CONFIRMED BOOKINGS
Up to 14 days prior to the date of arrival, Clients may reduce the number attending a function or conference by up 10% without
invoking the cancellation provisions. For a variation of more than 10% of the confirmed value or numbers where the function or
event is held, the Hotel reserves the right to make a charge of 90% of the confirmed value. The cancellation provisions will apply at
the sole discretion of the Hotel. If the variation is a reduction of 10% or more of the confirmed booking, the Hotel may at its
discretion provide a more appropriate room or venue.
The Hotel reserves the right at its own discretion to treat as a cancellation:
a.
Any variation being a reduction of 10% or more of the confirmed number or value or
b.
Any requested postponement to the confirmed booking date
4.
NUMBERS ATTENDING
a.
The Client shall not less than 14 days prior to the event give to the Hotel details of the final number attending the function
and this will be the minimum number charged. The acceptance of any increase over the previous number advised will be at the
Hotel’s discretion.
b.
Where a booking includes bedroom accommodation, full details of the number of persons staying together with the type
of accommodation and length of stay must be stated in writing no less than 14 days prior to the date of arrival, or sooner if
requested.
5.
CHARGES
a.
Settlement of accounts is due on presentation failing which interest may be charged at 2.5% per week. The Hotel reserves
the right to withhold or withdraw credit facilities at any time without notice and to charge outstanding amounts to the Client’s
credit or debit card. Clients who have in place approved credit facilities with the Hotel agree to pay all charges on the due dates,
that is, within 30 days, failing which interest will be charged at 2.5% per week.
b.
If the Client has any queries on any part of an invoice, the Client will pay the undisputed balance of the sum owing on the
date due and the remainder on resolution of the query.
c.
Should the level of any specific commodity increase inordinately, the Hotel may find it necessary to amend the prices
quoted but will give as much notice as possible to the Client in case an alternative can be agreed. Unless stated otherwise, prices
quoted are inclusive of VAT at the rate current at the date quoted. We reserve the right to increase our price to you should the VAT
rate be different at the date of your invoice.
d.
The Client agrees to pay the Hotel for any food and beverages or other services not provided for in this contract but made
available upon the request of the Client or one of its representatives, unless the Hotel has received specific instructions in writing
that such services are provided only on the basis of direct cash settlement by the guests or attendees.
e.
If there are delays in the settlement of accounts, interest may be charged as above and any collection costs incurred by the
Hotel (including fees billed by collection agencies, credit reference agencies, solicitors’ and court costs) will be added to the final
account payable.
6.
CLIENT USE OF THE HOTEL
a.
The Client undertakes to begin the function at the agreed time and ensure that the guests, invitees and other persons
vacate the premises at the closing hour indicated.
b.
The Client undertakes not to bring beverages or food of any kind into the Hotel and not to cause or permit the guests to do
so, unless prior arrangements have been made with the Hotel.
c.
No advertisement, notice, banner, decoration or any other item in relation to the function may be displayed or attached to
any part of the interior or exterior of the Hotel without prior approval of the Hotel. Approval of display does not include approval of
the means of display.
d.
The Client accepts liability for any missing items and for any damage caused by him/her/it or any of his/her/its guests,
invitees or persons attending the function or by persons working on their behalf during the set up or dismantling of equipment used
by them whether in rooms reserved, or in any other part of the Hotel. The Client further undertakes to pay full restitution for the
making good of any material damage to furniture, carpets, decorations equipment or other Hotel property howsoever caused by
such persons. The Hotel is not able to accept liability for loss or damage to property owned by or in possession of the Client whilst
that property is on the Hotel premises.
e.
The Client undertakes to conduct his/her/its function in an orderly manner and in full compliance with the rules of the
Hotel management and with all applicable legislation. On leaving the function guests are requested to behave quietly and with
consideration for other guests and local residents.
