Welcome
For 25 years, Yukoners and visitors have gathered to polish their musical skills, learn new instruments and styles,
and make new friends. Guided by some of Canada’s top music educators and supported by many volunteers, we’ve
helped to build the Yukon’s vibrant music scene and national reputation for rearing fabulous musicians.
Come and join us at Yukon College and the Yukon Arts Centre. Spend an unforgettable week learning from an
outstanding faculty and playing music with others. From ages three to ninety-three, from beginners to professionals,
from rock to jazz – everyone can find a perfect class at Yukon Summer Music Camp.
Not sure where you would fit in? Age and experience requirements are listed for each class. Class participants are
rarely at exactly the same level of skill or knowledge and our instructors prepare lessons for a range of abilities and
experience. Some lesson material may be challenging for you, while other parts are a review. Focus on how you can
get the most out of your class.
Supervision Options
1.
Children are not supervised outside of class times. Parents must take full responsibility for their children
before and after classes and during the lunch break.
2.
NEW! Not able to take time off work to accompany your children? Check out the “Get the Beat” camp for
8-12 year olds, a new partnership between Yukon Music Camp Society and YC Kids Camp at Yukon College.
This full day camp starts with cool morning music workshops: Beats & Samples, and African Beat. In the
afternoon campers will do fun science-based activities, indoor/outdoor recreation and possibly field trips.
