Day 1 - Sunday 3 April 2016 (D) Depart Melbourne
On arrival in Sydney Transfer by shuttle to Holiday Inn Sydney which is located only minutes away from Sydney Airport. The hotel is
modern and comfortable and has two restaurants on site for your convenience.
Day 2 - Monday 4 April 2016 (B, D) Depart Sydney – Arrive Norfolk/Progressive Dinner
Early breakfast at the hotel this morning. The hotel shuttle will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight to Norfolk Island. On
arrival you need to collect your checked luggage and clear customs and immigration. Once in the main terminal you will be met by our
local ground operator – Pinetree Tours and transferred to the Castaway, which will be your home for the next 7 nights. This boutique hotel
has been fully refurbished and is ideally located in a lovely quiet spot just a short walk to the centre of town or a few minutes’ drive to the
historic Kingston precinct. Developed from an historic family home, Castaway continues to be family owned and operated with exceptional
friendly island hospitality. Enjoy a welcome Tropical fruit cocktail on arrival before checking into your rooms. Tonight is a Progressive
Dinner. Enjoy a 3 course meal progressing to different Norfolk Island family homes. A fun night, and a great way to meet the local people
and sample some of the Island dishes.
Day 3 - Tuesday 5 April 2016 (B, D) Half Day Tour/Cyclorama/Dinner Pa Yea’s
Pinetree Tours Half Day Orientation Tour is a must for every visitor. Visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and much more. See and
hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches and golf course, the renowned Melanesian Chapel, local Government laws
and lifestyle. Enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary conducted tour. Rest for a delicious morning tea in the garden of an
historic island home built by Fletcher Quintal – descendant of ‘Bounty’ mutineers Fletcher Christian and Matthew Quintal. Lunch today
is own arrangements. This afternoon visit Fletcher’s Mutiny Cyclorama - an unforgettable experience. This is one of only a handful of
paintings of this type in the world and is based on an art form made popular in the 1800’s. Walk inside the circular painting and be
surrounded by the immense artwork. A spectacular 3D effect is achieved in this painting with its detailed artwork and realistic perspective
and the story that traces the history of the Bounty leaving England through Tahiti, Pitcairn Island and arrival at Norfolk Island in 1856.
Dinner tonight is a 2 course dinner at one of Norfolk’s great local restaurants.
Day 4 - Wednesday 6 April 2016 (B, D) Breakfast Bush Walk/Island Culture Tour/A Little Bit Country Show
Take your choice of a stroll through One Hundred Acres Reserve or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5km walk through scenic Mt Bates
to Captain Cook Monument. At the end of the walk we meet on the cliff top for a delicious breakfast barbecue. (We do not recommend
this walk to anyone with medical conditions). If you prefer not to rise early and bush walk, but would like to have breakfast on the cliff
top, join the walkers at Anson Bay and share in the delicious barbecue breakfast. Rest of the morning is at leisure and lunch today is own
arrangements. This afternoon is an Island Culture Tour. From the mutineer ancestors and their Tahitian wives came the arts of woodcraft,
weaving, cooking and our Norfolk language. See a woodturning demonstration, visit an island home where you will learn about the island
cooking. An island weaving demonstration and a presentation on the Norfolk language will follow the afternoon tea break. Tonight will
be a two course dinner at your hotel. After dinner tonight your host performs alongside of Mr Graeme Hugo and Ms Joy Adams. If you’re
not familiar with Graeme and Joy - Graeme is one of South Australia’s most hardworking independent artists. He has a great rapport with
audiences of all ages and is a real crowd pleaser. Joy is one of NZ’s best known country entertainers. She has an extensive repertoire plus a
natural flair for comedy. A great night’s entertainment is assured.
Day 5 - Thursday 7 April 2016 (B, D) Christian’s Glass Bottom Boat/Island Fish Fry/Mutiny on Bounty
View beautiful coral gardens and tropical fish inside the calm crystal waters of Norfolk’s lagoon on the Glass Bottom Boat. Donald and
John provide full and interesting commentary on the environment tour. Tour time will depend on tides. Lunch today is own arrangements
and afternoon is at leisure. Late this afternoon enjoy a feast of Island dishes, salads, homemade bread and fresh fried fish, followed by
Island desserts and tea or coffee. Watch the sun set from Puppy’s Point on Norfolk’s beautiful western coastline and enjoy some local
entertainment. Tonight see descendants of the Bounty mutineers bring the story of the famed ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’ and historic events
to life in an outdoor amphitheatre on Norfolk’s western coastline.
Day 6 - Friday 8 April 2016 (B, D) Day at Leisure/Night as a Convict
Today is at leisure. Why not check out the check out the shops in the Burnt Pine shopping area and see the huge range of European goods
and perfumes and cosmetics at Mainland Duty Free prices. If shopping is not your thing how about a morning of golf or tennis? Plenty of
great cafés and restaurants to choose from if you decide to just sit and enjoy a coffee. Lunch today is own arrangements and afternoon is
at leisure. Tonight is a fun night out for all ages! Dress as a convict and join in with the Commandant for an evening of gaiety,
feasting, singing and dancing.
Day 7 - Saturday 9 April 2016 (B, D) Pitcairn Settlers Village/La Perouse/Concert
Today visit the Pitcairn Settlers Village. On this unique historical tour you will learn about the proud history of the Pitcairn Islanders on
Norfolk Island. In the grounds of a beautiful old island homestead stroll through the outbuildings, browse through the museum filled
with items of nostalgic and historic interest, see the oldest working forge in the Pacific, look through an ex New Zealand Army hut with
war-time memorabilia and watch an exclusive film of Norfolk Island interest. Light refreshments are included. Tonight is a 2 course
dinner at La Perouse Restaurant at the Paradise Hotel and Resort and afterwards enjoy a second show from your hosts for the week –
Rodney, Graeme and Joy.
Day 8 - Sunday 10 April 2016 (B, D) Convict Settlement Tour/Scenic BBQ
Morning at leisure and lunch today is own arrangements. This afternoon join Pinetree Tours on a tour of the historic Georgian Settlement
of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery and hear the history of interesting convict and colonial headstones, hear stories of the houses
along Quality Row. Walk through the ruins of the New Gaol; see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill. Afternoon Tea included. This
evening enjoy a delicious two course dinner at one of Norfolk’s scenic spots. The best location will be chosen on the day
Day 9 - Monday 11 April 2016 (B) Depart Norfolk Arrive Melbourne
Standard checkout time applies. Pinetree Tours will collect you and transfer you to Norfolk Airport in time for your departure flight. Your
flight will connect with your domestic flight from Melbourne to Sydney.
