Relationship Centred Care™
A home for life for those in need
of nursing care
A new style of living in
privacy and security with
specialised care and
nursing on hand
Rodwell House is a new purpose-built
home for residents with nursing care
needs. The home has been designed
specifically to offer high levels of
specialist nursing care to:
•
•
•
older people with dementia type
illnesses
older people with physical frailty
younger adults with physical
disabilities
There are separate areas within the
home for each of these categories so
that each resident can live in a socially
compatible group.
Nursing care within a
home from home
Our spacious nursing suites provide
all residents with a ‘home from home’
with the benefit of 24 hour nursing care
and support. Our nursing care suites
all have en-suite shower rooms and,
in addition, they offer three important
features not found in traditional
nursing homes:
1. Social space so that residents’
families and friends can spend time
together in privacy and comfort
2. Dining space so that residents
can enjoy their meals in their own
room, if they wish
3. A kitchenette so that residents or
their guests can prepare drinks and
snacks

A typical care suite
With registered nurses on-site 24 hours
a day, the suites offer a permanent
home where the residents do not need
to worry about moving if their care
needs increase. Our residents can rest
assured they have a room for life at
Rodwell House.
Thriving social and
recreational activities
The home’s spacious dining rooms
and lounges are all on the ground
floor where staff offer a varied range
of activities suitable for the differing
needs of each individual group.
Residents can also benefit from our
on-site hairdressing salon, sensory
bathrooms and extensive landscaped
gardens.
Our Care Ethos
Our ethos of Relationship Centred
Care means we believe in really getting
to know each of our residents and
their life history so we can enhance
and enrich their life with meaningful
conversation and reminiscences.
We recognise that keeping in touch
with family and friends is vital for our
residents’ wellbeing so our social coordinators can help residents to access
telephones, computers or Skype.
We also have several new technologies
in place to help relatives themselves
feel involved in the day to day lives
of their loved ones in our home.
Nursing care suites offer the comfort and security of a home for life with round the clock
nursing care
Computerised care plans for our
residents cover all aspects of daily
living and relatives can register to view
these plans and daily reports on line
through our secure on-line system.
Our family-friendly
community
Rodwell House’s family-friendly open
door policy means relatives and friends
are welcome to visit at any time and
our children’s play area will help keep
even the youngest members of the
family occupied during their visits.
Rodwell House is family owned by Ernie
and Dr Karen Graham, whose aims
are to provide professional care and
support in a homely environment. All
the staff that work in Rodwell House
are direct employees, thus ensuring
continuity of care and facilitating a
family atmosphere.
Pre-admission
Assessments
Our manager or senior nurse will visit
a prospective resident in their home or
in hospital and then produce a written
proposal as to how Rodwell House
could meet their needs. This is without
obligation and provides a full range
of information on which to make a
decision.
Full details are available from the
manager.
