Press release Wednesday 6 May ROUNDHOUSE ANNOUNCE NEW HEAD OF MUSIC Roundhouse has today (Wednesday 6 May) announced the appointment of Jane Beese as the new head of music for the iconic London venue and charity. The Roundhouse is known as one of the best venues in London to see live music and performing arts but each year also works with over 3,000 young creatives offering opportunities in music, performing arts and media. Jane will lead the Roundhouse’s internationally renowned music programme and build on its reputation as one of London’s foremost cultural venues. As well as this the role will be vital in developing the Roundhouse’s own music programme, including opportunities for 11-25 year olds. Jane brings a wealth of experience to the role from her 15 years at Southbank Centre. As head of contemporary music Jane has overseen the Contemporary Music and Gigs programme, created the music programmes around festivals such as Alchemy, Ether, Africa Utopia, WOW and WWW. Jane has been the lead programmer on Meltdown Festival since 2010, working with curators including David Bowie, Patti Smith, Yoko Ono, Jarvis Cocker and James Lavelle. Prior to the Southbank Centre, Jane worked at booking agencies including 13 Artists, International Talent Booking and Asgard.
