ROYAL COACHMAN RESORT RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION BOARD March 24, 2015 9:00 AM Carla stopped by the meeting to meet the new Board members. I. Call to order – President Maddy Trimby called the meeting in the card room to order at 9:00 AM. II. Roll call – Members present were Larry Falcone, Patty Hicks, Bill Rudy, Judy Spiller, Maddy Trimby, Kerry Gonnam, Chuck Genrich, Frank Gawkowski, Clarence Trachsel and Joan O’Callaghan. III. Approval of Minutes – After a spelling correction of Paul Cady’s name the minutes of the March 10, 2015 were unanimously approved. IV. Treasurer’s Report – Bill Rudy reported expenses of $956.61 for speakers and sound equipment and $349.00 income from pancake breakfast leaving a balance of $12,373.84. Clarence moved to approve Treasurer’s report and Joan seconded. Motion approved. Bill Rudy also reported that Secretary Judy Spiller was added as second signature on the checking account. V. Old Business – 1. Communications – Email System-Chuck reported that all the email addresses are set up. 2. Funds Request-Bill Rudy reported that he spoke to Toni Skiver about purchasing benches for the bocce court in the fall. 3. Update on Water Problem-Patty Hicks reported that the county ordered Calusa Park to stop pumping water out of Dona Bay to keep their ponds full and to re-dig ditch along Legacy Trail to correct water problem. 4. Tennis Court Lights-Clarence reported that George “may” move the fire pit at the tennis court this summer and that the tennis group does not want lights on the main tennis courts. The lights were going to be given to the park by Donnie in maintenance. VI. New Business 1. Board Box Suggestions – 1. Paul Cady thanked the Board for their help with the fire pit and lights at the tennis court. 2. Bruce Hummel suggested that it would be more appropriate to pave the roads instead of installing lights on the tennis court. Judy reported she has met with Carla about a new sign for the Board Box in the mail room but Carla has not said when the sign would be replaced. 2. Fire Extinguisher Project –Clarence will check with local fire departments about having an event to check residents’ fire extinguishers and smoke detectors. Page 1 of 2 3. Meeting with Carla- Items discussed with Larry and Maddy a. Joan will meet with some residents and talk about starting a memorial garden in the park for deceased residents. b. Defibrillators have all been sent out to be serviced. Larry will ask George when they should be returned. c. George will be getting recycle bin signs and more recycling cans. d. A 3 part blue card system should be in place for next season so residents can keep of copy of their request. e. The park is getting quotes for new chair cushions. 4. Kerry Gonnam said he attended the Nokomis Area Community Association meeting and learned that there are plans to do work on Laurel Road west of the park and repaving on Albee Farm Road.
