Concerts take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday evenings in the outstanding acoustical environment of West Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 20401 Hilliard Boulevard, Rocky River. All performances are open to everyone and have no admission charge. Our concerts showcase an interesting mix of international, national, and local talent. The 57th season will begin on Monday, September 28, 2015 with the Aeolus Quartet, which is the graduate resident string quartet at the Juilliard School in New York City. Since its inception in 2008, the Aeolus Quartet has collected prizes at nearly every major competition in the United States and has performed across the globe. On November 16, we welcome Cuarteto Quiroga, which hails from Spain and takes its name from the distinguished Galician violinist Manuel Quiroga. The Quartet has a distinctive personality and is known for its bold and original approach to the string quartet repertoire. On February 1, 2016 we feature hometown favorite, Joshua Smith, principal flute of The Cleveland Orchestra who will bring along his Ensemble HD (think Happy Dog, a bar in Cleveland’s Gordon Square neighborhood). This promises to be an unusual evening! On March 14, Christopher Costanza, cello, (from the St. Lawrence String Quartet) will delight us with Bach Suites for solo cello as well as Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello (with violinist Peter Otto, first associate concertmaster of The Cleveland Orchestra). The season closes on May 9 with a recital of songs for baritone and piano (including works by Schubert) performed by baritone Mario Diaz-Moresco and the ever-popular pianist Spencer Myer. 2015 – 2016 Season: September 28….Aeolus Quartet (resident string quartet at the Juilliard School) November 16….Cuarteto Quiroga (string quartet from Spain) February 1……..Joshua Smith, principal flute, The Cleveland Orchestra, with his Ensemble HD March 14………Christopher Costanza, cello (from the St. Lawrence String Quartet), with Peter Otto, violin May 9………….Mario Diaz-Moresco, baritone and Spencer Myer, piano Rocky River Chamber Music Society, P.O.
