Courteous staff, hours of operation, and good collection.
The staff in the library (librarians) are the reason I love my library. They always go the extra length to help us find the
material/books/articles that we are looking for. They are the best!

I love my library because the staff are VERY helpful. They are open late and are willing to help whenever you need it. They
are always pleasant and give service with a smile. The library is always clean, quiet and has a friendly atmosphere. The
computer use is unlimited, I have been to local public libraries in Irondequoit and have been kicked off the computer in the
middle of doing a research paper and/or homework, and the staff were not very nice about it.
If I have questions about a medical issue, I can have a member of the staff do a search for me or I can go through their scores
of referances and search myself. The service is immediate and the staff are friendly and courteous.

Friendly, helpful staff meet the needs of staff and patients (families too.) Study areas, comfortable chairs for relaxing. Local
paper, Wall Street Journal and professional business papers are available. Books for pleasure reading are available and of
course Journals and the Web for answers to medical quesstions. The Best!
The library staff has always graciously assisted me in locating several references for publications written by physicians in my
department. They are extremely professional, respond promptly and in a friendly and collaborative manner. They are the
best!

Recently the library has went through a transformation and was renovated to make the atmophere more welcoming and
inviting. This has been a wonderfull transformation, from the prespective of someone who spends alot of time in the library,
it is very organized and peaceful. This library and the librarians are wonderful they are very resourceful always willing to go
the extra mile to find articles. They go above and beyond to get the right information to you at the right time. The librarians
also foster learning by also helping you develop your search strategy ability.
This library is awesome, everyone is kind & helpful. Never had an issue very peaceful when i arrive.
Communication.... They have a news letter each month so we know when there are special events. People.... There is always
someone there as you come in to help you with any task you may have, ie finding article, understanding the use of
computers, pointing direction to the wonderful group of libraians that assist with research. There is always a dedicated team
member to assist you. Recently renovated... The space is atractive, and comfortable. Sometimes on your lunch or break you
just need a few min. to sit relax maybe read the paper. Our library has the perfect space for this. peacefull light quiet and
relaxing.

I love our Library for all the services it offers, the resources it provides and the staff that work there. Any request is always
handled in the most quick and efficient way; if a request for material is vague, the staff is able to decipher and ask questions
of the requestor to provide exactly what is needed. The website they offer is so user friendly and contains a vast number of
resources. The staff members are friendly, knowledgeable and great teachers. Not only do they provide services for the
7000+ employees at RGH, but also the entire system and outlying hospitals. The Werner Medical Library is a true asset to so
many.

Quiet and peaceful place to read, and very nice meeting rooms with AV equipment and comfortable seating. It is a place that
we have used for difficult family meetings, and I thought it did not feel too cold or too fancy (my tastes are simple). The
medical librarians are top notch. They can get me just about any article within hours or a few days. They are personable over
email, and in person they are also. The print holdings are adequate: it is not meant to be a library with vast archives - we
can go across town and sit in the stacks at URMC if we wanted to do that. With more and more being done, unfortunately the
archived records are simply less important. Anything important, we can get from the librarians in readable form.

I love the space to work quietly and the space to decompress.
I have always been able to find any scientific articles I need through our library. They have been very helpful in procuring the
ones that are not immediately available to them. Their newsletters are also very informative.
It's a quiet place for me to study (for nursing school) that has great resources and helpful staff.
The Librarians are all top notch - always willing to help, very pro-active with all their customers, all assigned as liaisons for all
major departments, they turn around searches extremely fast, and provide access to current printed materials as well as a
large selection of online databases. They have modernized the library with new seating areas, have computers always
available, run a very successful patient library, run a circuit library program for rural hospitals, there is also a Wellness Center
for employees, patients, patient family members, and basically anyone in the community. There have been multiple
instances of a Librarian turning around a critical search to help a provider make the correct diagnosis and treat a patient as
soon as possible - they make a difference every day! The Director is fantastic and should be very proud of the services
provided by the Werner Medical Library to the Rochester Regional Health System as well as our community.
The Werner Library at RGH is an oasis!!! Whether it's coming to the library to steal a few minutes away from the hussle and
busyness of the work day or using the library for its very comfortable and accommodating meeting space or connecting with
the VERY FRIENDLY and super competent staff for a literature search or help with a research project or having the wellness
librarian look up some healthy practices/tips for a family member, the Werner Library has the family-like feeling of a bed and
breakfast with the staff which is always available and ready to help! A community jewel!!!

The staff at the Werner library are God-sent. They have time and again proven that they are our angels at Rochester General
Hospital. They are always there and always available to help. I remember one day I had called a few minutes before the day
was over and I was surprised that within a few minutes my query was satisfactorily answered. A member of staff meets with
us and is available every weekday to help with searches and projects. They also teach us how to perform our own searches.
All these they do with smile and pleasantly.I am happy to have every single one of them on our team.
I am a BSN nursing student through a SUNY school. I find I have more options for articles through the hospital library than I
do through the school library. Most importantly to me, the hospital Librarians are fabulous! If I need any assistance finding
an article they are ready, willing and able to help me with my search!
Librarians are really helpful and great resource to get the required literature for you.
They always have great resources when I need them, and offer a variety of topics that are relevant to the field I practice in.
They also provided the same type of service for pt. as they do for practioners.

Werner library is an amazing gem!. from the outside it looks like a small unimposing space. But walk through the door and
you enter a world of knowledge!. All around you are books, computers, and conference rooms! It is cozy and quiet with

Our medical library at RGH is fantastic. Right now, in fact, I am preparing to deliver medicine grand rounds tomorrow. I have
requested literature searches and old articles to be sent. The librarians send me the articles via email extremely quickly!
Also, when treating patients, time matters. The service is so prompt it is unbelievable. Because of the terrific staff at the
Werner Medical Library, this contributes to great patient care and medical education!
This hospital is truly awesome. Its open almost all of the time and its free! I love being able to come in here and enjoy the
quitness and the nice people it attracts . I would say to any person here that if you want a place to come and relax , study ,
get your mind off what ever is goin on outside of this hospital...come here . I think that this library is definitley one of the
biggest highlight points of this hospital becasue it carries on the tradtions of knowledge and the power of reading a quiet , i
repeat "quiet " medidtation.

The Werner Medical Library is outstanding in all services. I have requested many literature searches over the years, as well as
required assistance with obtaining books or articles, and computer assistance. I have always been impressed with the
courteousness of the library staff and their professional and timely attentiveness. I wish I more time in my day to spend in
the medical library to utilize all it has to offer.
Our hospital library is so very user friendly regardless if we need to physically stop in at the library or choose to visit on-line!
Whenever we need to request information, our library is always quick with a response to provide the information.....and we
receive periodic e-mails from the Werner Library providing us with the latest updates. Working in the area of denials for the
hospital, the Werner Library is a fantastic resource for clinical information!

Werner Librarians and support staff always assist me and nursing staff to improve Nursing practice and provide outstanding
patient care through literature search and increase patient safety. whenever i call or e-mail for a specific topic to be
researched i have the information within 24 - 48 hrs. the entire team is helpful, friendly and most considerate of Nurses
needs for updated information many new programs are introduced as well as refernce material to benifit the staff and
patients.

The Werner Medical Library has been an awesome resource for providing journals quickly for patient care and medical
education. There is never a journal article which the librarians cannot find. Over the years the library has acquired tools for
providing excellent care - and has become much more mobile giving the clinician access to resources from anywhere.

The Werner Library at Rochester General Hospital is extremely user friendly. Whether I am doing professional research or
personal research, the Werner Library Professionals are always available for help --- and they are very quick in their response
time! In the past few years, the Library has been pro active in updating their Web site and their user friendliness. I feel
certain that they are committed to providing exceptional service to their users.
Now retired Librarian, Lonna Ruety (spelling) was extremely responsive and attentive to my needs on several occasions while I
was getting my BSN.
The Werner library team is a wonderful asset to the healthcare team and actively assist us to provider best practice. They
work closely with the clinical team to complete high quality literature searches that allow us to explore evidence based
practice. Once articles, guidelines, etc. are selected they gain access to the information and provide it in a timely way. I have
even had acute issues with a patient necessitating immediate information to provide care and they got me the information I
needed.
I have been able to get the articles I want within 24 hours of request and sometimes even on the same day.
The team in the Werner Library is always available to assist our IM Residency Program. We have 61 Medical Residents who
often request searches on a moment’s notice. We have an IM residency Program Librarian assigned to us as well. She makes
herself available to the residents by setting office hours in their lounge, attending their noon lectures, attending grand rounds
and generally working with them to familiarize them with all of the resources the library has to offer! They have been
instrumental in assisting us with all of our education needs, including helping residents prepare for case presentations, poster
competitions and purchasing resources to improve medical knowledge. The Medical Library continues to look for innovative
ways to serve their patrons. They are currently re-vamping their website and have included their patrons in the process.
They opened a computer lab and conference room which is valuable resources.

It is an oasis of calm and the librarians are awesome at helping us find the articles and journals we need The new couches
are comfortable and it is very relaxing to take a break from the bustle of the hospiral and sit down with a journal and a cup of
coffee and take a 15 min break
The Werner Medical Library has helped me to complete many literature searches and obtain evidenced based information
concerning the bedside care for our Special Care Nursery infant population. I have used this informaton to confirm and
update bedside care, educate staff and complete presentations. The staff is friendly,knowledgable, supportive, and helpful. I
recieve my requests for information in a timely manner.
Never says no. Electronically powerful but quaint. Brings the service to us- pick the journals and sends us the TOC for these
journals and asks what articles we want. Can you beat that?!!

Community Hospital libraries rely on larger institutions help in supplying vital medical information to health care providers
and the Werner Library at Rochesgter General Hospital is my first stop in looking for assistance. Everyone at Werner is
welcoming, responsive, knows what has to be done and does it. After years in the hospital library business you get a feel for
who to turn to when urgent patient care information is needed and Werner is it. The library staff and collection is a great
asset in our region.
The staff at this library is the best. They are as valuable a resource as the written content housed within the library.

I truly love our Werner Medical Library! The generous help of the experienced library staff has facilitated my ability to
practice up-to-date medicine, prepare for medical education presentations, and explore the frontiers where medical science
and practice are heading. My career as a physician covers over four decades. Early on, it was fairly common to encounter a
patient challenge with which I had limited experience. Back then, before sophisticated computers, the library staff assisted by
searching medical indices for relevant case studies, current articles, and often photocopying the material. What a time saver
for me. And, what a tremendous help in providing optimal care for a complicated patient. As my career progressed,
teaching responsibilities expanded with medical students and residents, with regional physicians, and later with national and
international conferences. These activities required being updated with current medical knowledge in my field of
endocrinology/metabolism and also being conversant with novel research studies. Using newer computers, the library staff
had the ability, expertise, and the interest and willingness to help identify the broad scope of literature needed for me to
credibly present the appropriate educational information. Whatever success I achieved in these teaching endeavors is, in
large part, attributable to our library staff. As computer technology advanced, the library personnel indicated they could aid
in the slide making process by producing graphics from the literature that could then be made into slides. Knowing and
understanding what I was preparing, they suggested increasing their input to be of greater assistance. This represents a
recent example of the forward-thinking, always supportive, helpful attitude that has characterized our medical library for all
the years I have been associated with Rochester General Hospital. Yes, I truly love Werner Medical Library and its
extraordinary staff! Many grateful thanks to you.
The Werner Medical Library Staff do an amazing job. They are very professional, thorough and timely. Many physicains

The most important aspect of rating the quality of a library is how well it does in allowing one to both access and retrieve
information. Werner Library is that type of library. Their website is 'clean' looking and the links are easy to access. The
turnaround time of getting articles is <24hrs and the staff are very helpful and friendly. In addition, the library is proactive
looking into future needs and seeking info from their customers via surveys. A library is the main blood of an organization and

Has everything I expect from my library. Very helpful and resourceful librarians who are very kind and accommodating;
comfortable seating arrangements, well functioning digital library, very comfortable even if I was sitting there for prolonged
hours of reading for exams. Resources are all up to date including medical journals, books and if unavailable the librarians get
it for us free of cost.
The Werner Medical Library has transformed itself into vital role in the Rochester health care system. They are not just a
reasource, but a partner with the clinicians as they care for patients. The librarians don't just know library science -- they are
increasingly adept clinically, enhancing the benefits of their service. Not reserving their services to Rochester General
Hospital and its clinicians, the library also serves patients and their family members through the Stabbins Wellness
Information Center and they serve other healthcare institutions in the region through their Circuit Librarian program.
Clinicians in other health systems in our region often seek the assistance of the Werner library because of their great service
and skills.
Our librarian are responsive to clinical needs. They are quick to get you a referance and article within hour of your request.
Evidence based practice in conected to research, if I need latest article on a clinical protocol they will quickly pull it for me .

It is very helpful for me to come to the library after working the overnight shift to complete Healthstream learning activities,
to do the data collection for my clinical ladder committee or just to read an article in a specific journal that I do not subscribe
to. There is always someone there to answer a question or help me if it is something more detailed. I love my library!
The staff is AMAZING! They are friendly, very quick to answer my email, messages, or questions. The librarians always have
great suggestions and the information is in my inbox NEVER more than 24 hours. If I need something sooner they have always
gone out of their way to get it for me. I don't know what I would do without them!!

I am an admin for several surgeons at Rochester General and anytime that they've requested an article or information, The
Werner staff is amazingly fast in getting the information back to me for the doctors. They are thorough and professional. I
love the quiet peaceful atmosphere that's a welcome change to the busy and sometimes emotional job that we do at the

I work as a nephrologist at RGH, along with a great group of partners, and the staff of our library feels at times like another
partner in our practice - supporting us with such superb, personal, and above all quick service to provide medical literature to
allow us to provide the best of care to our patients, as well as to publish and teach. Rapid advances in medical knowledge
necessitate acess to what the latest research and opinion is on diagnosis and treatment of disease - and this involves review
of primary literature; if in a review or text, it may be long out of date. We know our librarians personally, and they work
around the clock, it seems, to get us this information. When we are preparing for a talk and request a massive number of
references - that is like water off a duck's back to our library team. They are highly trained and sophisticated and help us
with organizing our references and searchs. Please recognize this library and their extraordinary team - our silent partner in
medical care and teaching at RGH.

I love RGH's library, it's such a peaceful place to go after a busy day at work and the people that work here are all so nice and
helpful. I also come here to do my mandatories and get my research articles. It's also nice that they have coffee for us. It's a

The Werner Medical Library has not only been a source of information for me over more than 2 decades, but it has served to
be a true friend. Seems strange to describe a library as a friend, but this library is very special. The library as a system,
including all of its services as well as all the staff that deliver exceptional service always strive to provide not only excellent
and relevant information, but to make the library a welcoming space. It is a place to go to learn and achieve knowledge as
well as a haven to rest or enjoy a hidden moment of peace during a much needed break. Whether researching a school or
occupational project or taking a momentary break, the Werner Library and all its staff seek to provide the perfect atmosphere
that continually evolves to meet the new and ever changing needs informationally, but also to provide a wonderful
atmosphere that will be conducive to meet anyone's needs. The staff is always warm and friendly and willing to go above and
beyond for Werner Library's patrons.
They are always so helpful in acquiring materials that help me better care for our patients and provide education to students
and fellows.
I am a full time student as well as a full time employee. My time is very valuable and limited. As a student, I have access to the
medical library and resources within the school I attend. I have such difficulty navigating their website and locating sources of
information that I have stopped utilizing it for research projects. Our Werner Library is user friendly and I have a better
experience. If I struggle to find something, our librarians are readily available to help me. I am not a stranger to medical
libraries as I have been a nurse for over 16 years, and Werner Library is by far the easiest I have ever used.
I love having a quiet place to go to during lunch. I like how the library is set up where you can sit comfortable and read a
book or use the computers. The library staff is very friendly, helpful and I love the holiday decorations. :)

Rochester General Hospital -Werner Medical Library. It is a special place with many books and computers available for all the
aspects of medical field and other important information, the people that works in this place do an amazing work helping all
kinds of people from Doctor, students, in-house patients, regular employee and anybody that needs help they are there
willing to help with any questions and to find information needed, also it is a relaxing,cozy,secure and very comfortable place
to take a quick break from a busy day. !Love the big windows! I really enjoy every minute I spend in this special place.
