and other tasks. And LifeCare @ Home also
provides peace of mind – knowing that care
services are on-tap – immediate emergency
call assistance and ongoing care in the home
available within one business day upon request.

like to know their loved ones are safe and happy.
RSL LifeCare provides the services that ensure
your choice to live at home can be fulfilled.
You may need a hand at home, be returning
home from hospital, or require support to get
out and about.
We are available 24 hours, seven days a week.
All members of the LifeCare @ Home team are
motivated people with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who
bring energy, enthusiasm and compassion to
the people they serve every day. Team members
participate in a detailed recruitment process
which includes background checks, reference
checks and ongoing supervision to ensure the
highest quality team of staff are on hand to
deliver quality care.
Carer consistency is also a service which
LifeCare @ Home clients enjoy. This means
that clients and their family members have the
opportunity to become familiar and comfortable
with their carer rather than experience the
confusion of new faces and names.

There's no place like home. LifeCare @ Home
can be arranged for periods ranging from a
few hours to 24 hours a day, seven days a week,
52 weeks a year. We are able to provide
complete in-home healthcare solutions with
a personal touch. From technical nursing, to
personal care and companionship, our highly
qualified and experienced staff can
help with individual needs. All our staff are
Police cleared, professionally screened and
personally interviewed.

We offer an extensive range of LifeCare @ Home

Specialising services will provide care for your
loved ones whilst you are in hospital, or for you
when you first return from hospital.
LifeCare @ Home is available on a live-in
or live-out basis for temporary, regular and
long-term engagements.
Home Nursing Services
Qualified Registered Nurses, fully trained
Enrolled Nurses, and Personal Care Attendants
can provide private in-home nursing and
specialised services, such as wound care,
medical transportation, supervision of
medication, critical care, peri-operative care
(pre and post surgery) and hospital after-care.
Compassionate in-Home Care
We understand that providing care for frail
ageing parents or an older spouse is often
extremely difficult. Whether you care for them
yourself at home or oversee their care from
a distance, LifeCare @ Home is there for you.
We have been providing services for nearly a
century and understand that sensitivity and
discretion are vitally important factors.
Home nursing and personal care services are
available for early discharge patients. Respite
care can be arranged to relieve regular carers
on a live-in or live-out visiting basis.
Daily Companion Care
Intelligent, compassionate staff can be
called upon to provide light services and
companionship. These services may include
undertaking errands and shopping, meal
preparation, light cleaning, assistance with
bathing/showering, hygiene and dressing,
medication reminders, organising doctors’
appointments and visits, hospice support,
or just some very important supportive
companionship and pampering.
Palliative Care
Warm, caring nurses and care attendants are
available for this special area of care.

best staff to help you look after your home.
We make it easy for you to find reliable,
conscientious and trustworthy domestic staff
who will just roll up their sleeves and get on

LifeCare @ Home Garden and Home
Maintenance services can relieve you of those
additional weekend chores and give you a
little more free time, “me-time” or “family
time”. As with our other home-based services,
our commitment to quality assurance and
professional recommendation applies. All staff
and contractors are professionally screened and
personally interviewed.
This service can include washing, ironing,
changing bed-linen, bed-making, general
maintenance cleaning of the home or
apartment, attention to hot-plates, oven,
refrigerator and freezer, the preparation and
cooking of family meals and shopping for
household provisions.
Moving-in and Moving-out Cleaning Services
For the thorough cleaning of an empty home
or apartment.
Spring cleaning
This is an initial home cleaning service or
one provided for the occasional cleaning of a
house or apartment that has not been regularly
maintained. The service is usually undertaken
by two staff working together. It may include
washing all external and internal fixtures such
as cupboards, doors, removing marks from
walls, cleaning bathrooms, toilets and shower
recesses, thorough kitchen cleaning, including
cook-tops, ovens, refrigerator and freezer.
Glass surfaces are cleaned, timber furniture
and other surfaces polished, floors are washed
and full vacuum cleaning is undertaken.
Taking down light fabric curtains, washing,
ironing and re-hanging them is an additional
service offered.
This may be done in the client’s own vehicle.
An additional charge per kilometre is made if the
driving is done in the staff’s car.
Does your home need a little TLC?
Gardeners? Handymen? We have them all!
LifeCare @ Home are able to provide almost
any non-tradesman service. General household
maintenance, replacement of tap-washers or
light-globes, sweeping paths, outside window
cleaning, minor carpentry repairs, touch-up
painting, lawn mowing, garden maintenance,
gutter cleaning, fertiliser spreading, rubbish
removal, weed control, pruning/trimming and car
cleaning.

What are the payment arrangements?
The initial assessment and meeting is at no cost.
At that time, we will clearly outline fees. We will
invoice you. For your convenience, we accept
cheque payment and for extended periods of
service, we generally arrange a direct debit service.
May I book a regular service?
Weekly? Fortnightly? Monthly?

What insurance cover should I have in place?

Domestic Services – Should I leave a list of
things I want done?
It is wise to advise the person what you require. You
may wish to leave a comprehensive list of duties
marking your priorities in case the service takes
longer to complete than you have anticipated.
Yes. This may be arranged at the initial
meeting or later on.

How much advance notice do I need to give?
As much notice as possible however, we will
respond and provide a service within 24 hours if
requested.

What happens if I do not like the staff member
or I am not satisfied with his/her work?
Please call us and we will fully investigate any
issue of concern and change staff if requested.
When we first meet with you we will advise you
regarding your rights and the comments and
complaints protocols we have in place.

If the staff member I have booked suddenly takes
ill or has a personal problem that prevents his/
her arrival, will I be notified?
Yes, we will contact you directly to re-schedule the
booking or send a replacement staff member.
Workers compensation insurance is covered by
us. However, we recommend that you check your
Home & Contents Insurance to make sure that you
are covered for any breakages that may occur.

Can I ask for shopping to be completed on the
way to my booking?
Yes. When we contact you, please advise what
purchases you require. You will be charged for the
additional time involved and the purchases.

We have pets, which are used to being in the
home, will that be a problem?
Please advise us at the time of booking that there
are animals in the house and we will refer a staff
member who is fond of animals.

What cleaning tools and products do I need
to provide?
A vacuum cleaner with attachments, fresh
liner bags where applicable, mop and bucket,
brooms for both inside and outside the residence,
dustpan and brush, plenty of clean soft cloths,
your preferred cleansers for bathrooms, kitchen
and living areas, furniture polish or cleaner,
dishwashing detergent, rubbish bin liners, a small
step-stool for higher areas etc. You must ensure
that all appliances and cords are in good working
order and safe to use. If you also require the staff
member to wash and iron clothes, linen etc. – you
will need to provide laundry detergent and spray
starch (if you prefer a finisher for the ironing).

We have not outsourced our household cleaning
before – should I follow-up the person while the
work is being undertaken?
If there is a special way you like things to be done,
advise the staff member prior to commencement
of the service. Then you may ask the staff member
to call upon you to check each area as it is
completed. Our people have been advised at their
interview that this is not a personal attack on their
cleaning ability nor a reflection on their honesty.

Will the handyman-gardener hold trade
qualifications or certification in this field?
This is a non-tradesman service. People who
undertake these referrals are usually experienced
handy-persons and/or enthusiastic gardeners who
enjoy using their talent and abilities in the area of
home and garden maintenance.

What levels and types of nursing services
are available?
Either qualified and registered nurses or
unqualified but experienced personal care staff
can be referred to suit the requirements of the
person who is to receive the service. Registered
Nurses, care staff, and companion carers can
be provided. From our initial discussion and
assessment we will recommend the level of care
which best suits your needs.
Our History
RSL LifeCare is a charitable organisation that
was formed in 1911 to provide care and service
to war veterans. Services were initially provided
at Bare Island, Botany Bay, until moving to
Narrabeen in 1939. From small beginnings
providing care and service to just a handful of
war veterans, the organisation has grown to be
one of the largest senior living services
in Australia.
Caring for 4000 people across Independent
Living, Community Care, Assisted Living,
Dementia and Nursing Home, we have
developed an extensive range of services that
fosters independence and provides social,
clinical, emotional and spiritual support.
