CaMSP Riverside Elementary Science Renaissance Project
(Temporary Position – Ends June 2018)
DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Director of Elementary Education and the
Instructional Services Specialist K-12 Science, Health, and PE, the
CaMSP Teacher on Special Assignment will be responsible for the
day-to-day management and administration of the Riverside Science
Renaissance Project in which 75 elementary teachers will receive
professional development in science content, pedagogy, NGSS, and
educational technology. The position will require coordination and
liaison with Riverside Community College, University of California,
Riverside, California Baptist University, California Department of
Education, Delta Education and several regional partners to ensure
efficient communication and scheduling of a complex schedule of
professional learning sessions, leadership and partnership meetings,
and project design workshops.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional responsibilities include:
 Primary point of contact for California Department of
Education representatives and agents.
 Monitor, manage, and report on project budget allocations and
expenditures.
 Track all relevant project information and complete/submit all
required reports to California Department of Education and
assigned State evaluator.
 Plan, coordinate, and chair all project related leadership,
planning, and advisory meetings.
 Plan, coordinate, and facilitate all professional learning
sessions including a two-week summer institute, all follow-up
professional learning sessions throughout the school year, and
all public outreach functions including 6 science nights.
 Plan, coordinate, and implement an integrated educational
technology training program in collaboration with Project
Partners.
 Support and facilitate the application of educational
technology components to the delivery of professional learning
activities by professional development providers, content
providers, and associated partners.
 Attend all required State sponsored Learning Network
meetings in Sacramento and other assigned locations.

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate conference appearances and
present information on the progress of the Riverside
Elementary Science Renaissance Project.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree desirable. Minimum of five years of successful teaching
experience.
CREDENTIAL:
Possession of a valid California Single Subject Teaching credential in
Science, or a Single Subject Teaching credential with an authorization in
Science, or a Multiple Subjects Teaching credential with an authorization
in Science, and English Learner Certification/Authorization. For

Placement on the July 1, 2014 teacher salary schedule: One year of
step credit for each year of previous experience equivalent to public
school experience, not to exceed 14 years. $51,907 - $93,135, plus
health, dental, vision, life insurance and Employee Assistance
Program.
 185 day work year and 8 hour work day
 This position will require the employee to work during the summer
months to prepare for trainings.
 This is a 3 year grant funded position which will come to an
end on June 30, 2018.
