Contestants must be in good academic standing and on track to graduate. Discipline and attendance records will be checked for all Dacula Middle and High school students and no student with a major disciplinary infraction within one calendar school year may compete in the pageant. High School contestants will be nominated by peers and teachers for the Miss Dacula pageant. All nominees will receive notice of nomination and information packet to participate. Nominees will be announced at the high school; however, you do not have to be nominated to register. All contestants must sell a minimum of four tickets to the pageant. ($10.00 per ticket) Contestants are encouraged to meet a minimum sponsorship requirement of $50.00. (see sponsorship handout for details.) These titles are open to any Georgia resident, but are not eligible for the Miss Dacula titles. “Miss Dacula Sweetheart” titles will be awarded in each age division to the contestant raising the most funds for Dacula Schools. This title may be awarded in conjunction with Miss Dacula or Miss Greater Dacula as it has no bearing on the pageant outcome. Judge’s decisions are final. Talking with the judges before, during, or after the pageant is prohibited. If any family, friend, or the contestant herself is caught violating this rule, the contestant will be disqualified and forfeiture of any and all awards received. All registration/entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable. The Miss Dacula Pageant is not responsible for loss due to injury incurred at, or in travel to and from the pageant. We are not responsible for any thefts that may occur. Raising financial support beyond the requirement fees is strictly optional. At no time will the judges know who raised any funds beyond that until it is announced on stage during the awards ceremony. The Miss Dacula Pageant requires high moral standards; therefore any contestant or representative caught engaged in such acts, such as drinking alcohol, taking drugs, smoking, foul language, bullying, etc. will be immediately disqualified at the discretion of the director and the Dacula High School Administrative team. In keeping with the Miss Dacula Pageants’ policies, any girl participating in the pageant must monitor her social network, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Vine, Snapchat, etc., and email accounts to be sure that they are within high moral standards. This will include posts and pictures from others on your pages and/or any pictures and posts from the contestant or crowned representative on her own page or others’ page. Any contestant or winner can be immediately disqualified at the discretion of the directors. Contestants will not slander or libel other contestants, judges, Miss Dacula Pageants, Miss Dacula directors, Dacula High School and cluster schools, or anyone else involved with the pageant. Defamatory verbal and/or written remarks will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of any and all prizes and awards. Any contestant found publicly posting slanderous or derogatory remarks on public forums will be immediately disqualified. Contestants will conduct themselves in a courteous, professional manner at all times during the Miss Dacula Pageant and practices and while representing a Miss Dacula title. A queen will reign until her successor is determined unless disqualified. Queens in the K-5th grade will forfeit their title if they are no longer a student at a Dacula cluster elementary school. Queens in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will forfeit their title if they are no longer a student at Dacula Middle School and will be unable to crown their successor. Queens in the 9 th, 10th, 11th, grade will forfeit their title if they are no longer a student at Dacula High School and will be unable to crown their successor. Permission is granted to Miss Dacula Pageants and Dacula High School to use, reproduce, and/or publish photographs and/or video that may pertain to contestants-including images, likeness and/or voice without compensation. A contestant who has a 2015 title from another local school pageant system (ie: Miss Grayson, Mill Creek, Miss Archer, Miss Mountain View, etc) will not be allowed to compete in the Miss Dacula pageant system. Queens who are currently crowned Miss Dacula in the 2014 reign will not be able to compete in the 2015 pageant. The $40.00 is due on Thursday, April 2, 2015 to the Miss Dacula Pageant Committee. Each contestant should turn in their ticket money to their age level lead. Extra tickets will be available to the contestants on this day as well as April 16 and again at the door the day of the pageant. Make all checks payable to Dacula High School. Cash is also accepted. Videography Videos of the 2015 Miss Dacula Pageant will be available to purchase. Details on these orders will be available closer to date of pageant. Interviews The interviews will be conducted with the judges on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Dacula High School in the front office from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. Each contestant will have a 3-5 minute interview with the judges. You will be assigned a time and will be expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to your interview time. If you need special consideration for your interview time, please send an e-mail requesting such to [email protected]. You are expected to be dressed professionally; for instance, something you would wear to a job or college interview. It is important to select an outfit you feel very comfortable wearing. Your hair and make-up should be natural. Pageant Start Times The primary and secondary school division pageant is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. All contestants need to arrive at 9:00 AM. The middle school division pageant is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM. All contestants need to arrive at 3:00 PM. The high school division pageant is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. All contestants need to arrive at 6:00 PM. For all Pageant Divisions A parent, guardian or helper may accompany contestants to the dressing room to unload items; however this person will need to leave backstage and enter with their ticket and have a seat in the audience. No one, other than the contestant and pageant committee workers may remain in the dressing rooms during the pageant. No personal hairdresser, make-up artist, coaches/trainers, etc. will be allowed into the dressing rooms. We have adopted this policy to ensure that the pageant is handled in a fair, organized and timely manner. We will have plenty of experienced pageant helpers in the back to assist the girls with wardrobe changes and to add the final touches for each girl, as needed. There are three levels of awards for contestants who help raise funds. These awards CAN be awarded in conjunction with Miss Dacula or Miss Greater Dacula titles. Judges will not be made aware of contestant vying for Sweetheart titles. Miss Dacula Rose Award All contestants raising a minimum of $150 or more, above registration fees, will be recognized during the awards ceremony. Her prize package will include, but not limited to a single rose, crown, and bracelet. Miss Dacula Sweetheart Princesses One Sweetheart Princess will be crowned in each age division. The contestant in each age division who raises the most financial support beyond the entry fees and at least $150.00 through businesses, family, and friends for the Dacula High School student leadership team will be crowned Miss Dacula Sweetheart Princess. Miss Dacula Sweetheart Queen The contestant who raises the most financial support through businesses, family and friends for all age/grade levels. WHAT IS THE PEOPLE’s CHOICE AWARD? The People’s Choice Award is chance for audience members and student body members of Dacula High School to “vote” for their favorite contestant by casting “1.00 per vote in their favorite contestants bag either before the pageant or during the intermission at the People’s Choice Table. The boxes/bags will also be on display during lunch at Dacula High School the week prior to the pageant, April 13-17, 2015. You can vote for as many contestants as you would like and as many times as you would like. The contestant with the most “votes” is announced during the Awards Ceremony for that specific age division and is honored with a beautiful scepter and/or medal. We ask each contestant to decorate her own People’s Choice Box or Bag. You can use a shoe box, cardboard box, photo box, gift bag, etc. Decorate your bag to represent you. You can use photos, 3D display, fur, rhinestones, words, etc. to express who YOU are! There is no right or wrong way to decorate. You are campaigning for the audience’s vote so be creative and have fun. Be sure your name is on the box/bag where people can easily read it and for your supporters to cast their vote. Please leave a way for People’s Choice judges to open the bag or box without destroying it. For example, if decorating a bag leave the top open. Contestants will turn in their People’s Choice box/bag April 2, 2015. Please be sure to pick up your bag at the end of the pageant. The ads will be sold as follows: Business Card: $25.00 ¼ page: $35.00 ½ page: $75.00 full page: $125.00 All checks should be made payable to Dacula High School with “Miss Dacula Pageant 2015” in the subject, or you can pay using MyPaymentsPlus on the Miss Dacula Webiste. E-mail all ads to in the format you would like to see in the program to: [email protected] Type “Good Luck Ad” or “Sponsorship Ad” in the subject line of the email. Include your ad attachment in the format you wish for it to be displayed in the program book. Must be in .pub, .doc, .docx format and image in .jpeg format. If paying with check please include the check # and date check was sent in the e-mail. If paid on line please indicate in e-mail with ad. If you would prefer to send ad and check through mail, send to: o 123 Broad Street, Dacula, 30019 Attn.
