Instrukcja dla zdającego

2. Pisz czytelnie. Używaj długopisu/pióra tylko z czarnym

4. Pamiętaj, że zapisy w brudnopisie nie będą oceniane.

People in Britain spend less of their free time meeting friends than watching TV, surfing

to Friday. Weekends are the best time for many Brits to spend time outside the home.
On Saturdays and Sundays a lot of people visit shopping centres, restaurants and cinemas.
During the week they feel too tired to enjoy these activities.

THE BRITISH LIBRARY
2.1.
The British Library was built in 1753 with money given by King George II and many rich
aristocrats. During the 19th century it was modernized and moved to a much bigger building.
Today it is visited by millions of tourists every year.
2.2.
The library has more than 25 million printed books as well as thousands of international
magazines and historical documents in electronic form and on microfilm. Tourists can
admire valuable Egyptian and African manuscripts, the first paper money, and maps from
the 15th century.
2.3.
The British Library is free to all guests and open every day from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
We recommend using public transport to get here because the parking area is small. It is also
a good idea to come early because there are many people using the library in the afternoon.

I went to Fistral in the south of England. The place is popular with surfers all year round.
When I was there, I watched the International Surfing Championships. The winner’s
tricks were amazing. I liked the beach very much but the weather was awful. It rained all
week.

In July my family decided to relax by the sea. We chose a nice fishing village. However,
everything went wrong. The beach was rocky, the restaurants were very expensive
and I couldn’t swim because of the high waves. Luckily, it was warm and sunny so
I relaxed a lot and my dog played on the sand!
C. Collin
I spent my summer holidays with a group of friends in a village called Towan. It is
known for its beautiful beaches. It was sunny for the whole week so we rode our bikes,
swam and I even learned to surf! The only thing I didn’t like was the dogs running along
the beach.

HAPPY END
I went to Ireland in the summer of 2009. I decided to spend one day taking pictures. I started
early in the morning in the countryside. In the afternoon, I returned to Dublin and
photographed its historical buildings. I took so many pictures on that day that I had to buy
another memory card. But when I was paying for my shopping, I saw my camera was gone.
I asked the shop assistants to help me and they all started looking for it but it wasn’t anywhere
in the shop. For the rest of my holiday I used my friend’s camera. And then, just before
Christmas, I received a small parcel. Inside I found my lost camera and a short letter from
a stranger. Can you believe it? I still don’t know how somebody from a small Irish town
found me here in New York!
