This evening we’re off to Guatemala and Russia with Kelley & Joel D and
Ken M sharing about their trips.
SUNDAY
10:30 a.m. Coffee/Tea time: You are welcome to enjoy refreshments while visiting in the foyer.
11:00 a.m. WORSHIP SERVICE:
Hearing Assist: To borrow a listening device, speak to
the audio-visual person at the back of the sanctuary.
Join together as we seek to glorify God with songs of praise, prayers, scripture readings, and as
we continue a sermon-series: “Life in the Spirit: 1 Corinthians”. Pastor Ken brings a message
focussing on chapter 10:1-13 titled, “Failures & Freedom”. During the sermon time, children
may participate downstairs in ‘Children’s Corner’ (ages 1-4) or Children’s Worship (ages 4-8).
Please help yourself to a S.C.C. DIRECTORY, available on the foyer table.
MONTHLY POTLUCK LUNCH – Salad theme:
Come share lunch together in the lower hall, following the worship
service. Those who call SCC their home-church are encouraged to bring
a salad (veggies, fruit, pasta, etc.) or sliced-bread / buns to share.
UPCOMING at S.C.C.
Thursdays 7:30am: Men’s Breakfast & Prayer group meets at the church.
Sunday, May 31st – BIKE TO WORSHIP. Bike to Work week is May 25-31,
so here’s a challenge - let’s see how many SCC attendees can bike to church
(weather permitting). Please park/lock bikes in the back fenced area.
Sunday, June 28th – SCC ANNUAL PICNIC following the worship service: You might want to
mark your calendar now as summer-time plans are being made. The Fellowship team has a
Potluck Picnic planned, to take place at Island View Beach where they have reserved the
shelter for the afternoon. Details coming soon.
SCC Finances - Update:
April brought us many blessings, including generous giving by the congregation which has
covered expenses, though not quite yet meeting our 2015 budget expectations. If you’d prefer
to donate using a credit card, this can be done online at Canada Helps. There is a link on our
church website homepage. Please note that Canada Helps deducts 3.5% from your donation to
cover administrative costs & provide yearend receipts.
