W e welcome all those visiting Sacred Heart-St. Mary’s for Liturgy this weekend. We hope you feel at home and join us again for worship. DIVIE MERCY SUDAY This weekend throughout the world, the Catholic Church celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday. This feast was established by St. John Paul II at the canonization of Sister Faustina Kowalska. The message of Jesus’ Divine Mercy was revealed by Jesus to St. Faustina over a number of years in 1930’s. It then spread rapidly around the world despite many setbacks. Its message is one of simplicity and beauty reminding us of our Savior’s deep desire that we be united with Him through His Devine Mercy. Jesus told St. Faustina that this Feast emerged “from the very depths of My mercy and is confirmed in the vast depths of my tender mercies.” He also told her that whoever approaches the Fountain of Life, that means that everyone who receives Holy Communion without grave sin on this day, will be granted complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. What beautiful words of contemplation for us during this Easter season. Jesus’ Divine Mercy is open to all, especially the most hardened sinners. He wants us to come back to Him and find refuge, forgiveness, and peace. In a world that seems to be spinning out of control more and more each day this is a message that we need to hear and believe. No sin is too great to be forgiven, for Jesus’ mercy is greater and He wants us to return to Him. Who among us can say that we are not in need of His mercy in our lives. Personally, I find myself often repeating those five words of comfort and trust in God’s will for me, “Jesus I trust in you.” Jesus, who filled St. Faustina with profound veneration for your boundless Mercy, if it be your holy will to grant me, through her intercession, the grace for which I fervently pray….. Parishioners of Sacred Heart-St. Mary’s congratulate Fr. John Mikalajunas, pastor of Holy Trinity Church, who was recently honored with the title of Canon. Fr. John is the first American Born Priest in the Diocese to have this granted to him. His title is now Rev. Canon John E. Mikalajunas or Ks. Kanonik in Polish. RCIA The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process by which adults are initiated into the Catholic Church. In this process, informal learning sessions are held for adults who are interested in becoming Catholic, and also for Baptized Catholic adults who have never received the Sacrament of Eucharist, and/or Confirmation, or who are interested in returning to the Faith or being renewed in their Faith. If you would like more information, please call Terry Streit at 939-3485. A Family Perspective: In today’s gospel, Jesus teaches, “Blessed are those who have not seen and believe.” Accepting someone as they are, without demanding they prove themselves or meet our expectations, creates a rich relationship. Without acceptance, a home is only a house and a family is just a group of house mates. PLEASE DO &OT REMOVE MISSALETTES OR MUSIC BOOKS FROM CHURCH. THANK YOU. 13 TUESDAYS &OVE&A TO ST.
