Employment Opportunity Program Development Officer [8 week contract] The P. R. Community & Student Association invites applications to fill the position of Program Development Officer, available at Sadleir House in Peterborough, Ontario. Celebrating its tenth year of operation, Sadleir House is an independent, non-profit educational facility owned by the students of Trent University and shared with the community as a whole. The successful candidate will work to develop and promote activities and use of the Sadleir House facility. Specific duties will include: Perform a review of existing programs and activities to make recommendations for changes and new activities, with an eye to comparator organizations and the development of ongoing performance metrics; Develop and implement a plan for Summer Events that will be pertinent to youth, the community at large, and visitors to the Kawartha region; Develop a plan for an on-going annual event cycle (organized around regular keystone events) that will engage youth and community members and promoting cultural and educational connections to the community at large; Assist staff with a review of policies and procedures as they relate to facilitating and promoting community events in the facility. All Sadleir House staff are expected to aid with day-to-day operations of the facility. Eligibility & Qualifications Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment; Registered as a full-time student during the 2014-15 academic year; Intends to return to school on a full-time basis during the 2015-16 academic year; Available weekends and evenings; Detail oriented with strong organizational skills; Experience with event facilitation and planning; Enthusiasm in fostering community activity.
