Duties & Responsibilities – Project Manager

Aequitas NEO Exchange Inc. has entered the Canadian capital markets to establish a new stock exchange that will seek to
restore the original purpose of an exchange: the efficient allocation of capital between issuers and investors as a central
force driving the Canadian economy.
Job Description Overview:
The Project Manager is an integral member of the Aequitas Neo Exchange team responsible for delivering projects of varying
size and complexity; as well as leading time sensitive issue resolution activities as they arise. Reporting to the Chief Operating
Officer, the Project Manager is responsible for directing, organizing, controlling and documenting project and issue resolution
activities and reporting status internally and externally as may be required, under the direction of the Head of Business
Operations.
Responsibilities:
• Work with Business Heads and team members to develop project schedules and other project management
artifacts - project documentation, approvals, spreadsheets, meeting minutes, status reports, risk/issue/action logs
• Work with project team to understand and assist with tracking all work, task and project assignments
• Identify and communicate project challenges and risks in a timely manner
• Communicating relevant information to all team members, such as change in schedule dates, project scope, and
unexpected delays
• Develop, review and publish project status reports and meeting minutes
• Lead time sensitive production issue resolution activities (critical incidents) across all business lines
• Coordinate the implementation of all operational environment changes within the organization ensuring adherence
to organizationally accepted change management policies and procedures
• Special projects as required
Desired Skills:
• Effective and efficient communication skills - verbal and written
• Self-Starter requiring minimal supervision with the ability to work independently and in teams
• Strong knowledge of project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project) and methodologies (e.g. Waterfall and
Agile)
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)
• Strong ability to balance competing or conflicting requests and priorities of various projects, stakeholders, requiring
a professional approach and highly developed negotiation and influencing skills
• Should have an understanding of the Canadian Equity Market space
• A passion and willingness to learn new things
Experience:
• 5+ years of work experience in the financial or investment industry
• 7+ years of experience managing technology and/or business projects of varying complexity
• Organized, analytical thinker with a high attention to detail
• Aptitude for understanding various technologies with a flexible, and enthusiastic attitude
• Working knowledge and experience using Jira and Confluence is an asset
Travel Requirements:
<5% (or less than 10 calendar days per year).
