Dear Parishioners, Friends and Visitors,
Alleluia! Christ is Risen, Alleluia! I want to extend wishes of a beau ful and happy Easter to all parishioners, staff, and visitors who have gathered here at St. Agnes Church to celebrate the Resurrec on of our Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have now entered into the great season of Easter de. May we all celebrate
with great joy the promise of our new life in Christ, our Risen Lord.
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad. The Lord Jesus, through his cross and resurrecon, has destroyed the power of sin and death and brought us into His life. Christ has won for us victory
over the grave. The Church in her wisdom asks us to keep this feast alive for fi y days. We need to reflect
on this and just how much our Lord loves us. Easter is so much more than flowers, cards, Easter eggs, candy
and even beau ful music. It is the historical event that gives ul mate meaning and purpose to our lives. Because Jesus died and rose from the dead, we no longer have to fear sin and death. The victory has been won
in Christ. We celebrate Jesus who is our Paschal Lamb who died out of sheer love for us.
"I invite all Chris ans, everywhere at this very moment to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus
Christ, or at least an openness to le ng him encounter them: I ask all of you to do this unfailingly each
day. The Lord does not disappoint those who take this risk; whenever we take a step toward Jesus, we
come to realize that he is already there, wai ng for us with open arms. " Pope Francis
I thank all our parishioners for helping to make St .Agnes such a warm, caring and friendly community of
faith. Also, I appreciate those who helped in any way to set-up and/or decorate. I also thank our altar servers, lectors, choir, EMEs, ushers, and all volunteers, who did so much to make this Easter so beau ful. Together we have been blessed to use our me and talents to praise and adore our Risen Lord.
In His love, May the Peace of our Risen Lord be with you all.

Pope Francis’ Announcement of Jubilee Year of Mercy
In his homily on March 13th, Pope Francis announced his inten on to call for an Extraordinary Jubilee Year. This “Jubilee of Mercy” will commence with the opening of
the Holy Door in St. Peter’s on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Concep on, 2015, and
will conclude on November 20, 2016 with the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of
the Universe. At the start of the new year, the Holy Father had stated: “This is the me
of mercy. It is important that the lay faithful live it and bring it into different social environments. Go forth
From The Dorothy Day Ministry Center:
“The Church betrays it’s love for God and it’s fidelity
to the Gospel if it ceases to be ‘the voice of those who
have no voice’, defending the rights of the poor, ani‐
mating all who are yearning for a just liberation, ori‐
enting, empowering and humanizing all who are le‐
gitimately struggling to gain a just society that pre‐
pares the way for the true reign of God in history.
This requires the Church to place herself among the
poor with whom it should stand firmly, taking the
same risks as the poor, their destiny of persecution,
ready to give the greatest testimony of love by de‐
fending and promoting those whom Jesus loved with
preference.
This preference for the poor, I repeat, does not signify
an unjust discrimination of class but an invitation to
all regardless of class to accept and take up the cause
of the poor as if accepting and taking up one’s own
cause, and the cause of the poor is the same as that of
Christ: ‘That what you do to the least of my brothers
and sisters you do to Me’ “.
Archbishop Oscar Romero, Catholic Martyr
Joyous Easter to all who

Jesús resucitado nos ofrece la salvacion. Podemos experimentarla
