In trying to understand the true
power of stewardship, we need not
look any further than the cross. It
serves as a tremendous example of
giving everything away freely for
God and the people of God. Jesus
answered the call, regardless of the
cost, and the cost was life itself.

of the Cross beginning at the Four
Freedoms Monument in Downtown
Evansville and concluding at Holy
Trinity Catholic Church. We will
begin at 3:15 pm (Central) and will
reflect on the path that Christ followed for our redemption. The
event should finish before 5:00 pm

MINISTRY
BOSCO PORK AND FISH DINNERS
St. John Bosco Youth Ministry will be
having it's annual fish fry on Friday,
April 17th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. We
are adding a BBQ pork option this
year so come enjoy either fish or pork
with the traditional German Potatoes, Coleslaw, and Bread. Food service will be drive-thru only. The cost
of each meal is $8.
Wednesdays the Bosco House is
open after school until 5pm for dropping in (high school). Join us
Wednesday nights for Bible Storying at the Bosco House after Rel. Ed.

You can still register for Source &
Summit! This is a retreat for all aged
13-24 , April 10-12 at Mater Dei High
School. Registration materials can be
picked up at the parish or from Carley. There is also an adult version of
the retreat, so all are welcome. Turn
in your registration ASAP so that we
have a count for transportation and
overnight arrangements.
An Apologetics Class is being offered
starting this week for high school students. The Bradfords will be leading
this class at the Bosco House on
Wednesdays in April from 6:307:30pm. Want to be able to articulate your Catholic faith better? Come
check it out.

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION
an account of the passion of Jesus
Christ during the liturgy. Most
churches also share this reading in
common. Many Catholic parishes
use multiple lectors to proclaim the
Gospel, while it is not uncommon
for a similar reading or even a performance in many mainstream
Protestant churches.
It was during the fourth century in
Jerusalem that Christians first
starting using palm branches in
commemoration of Jesus' entrance
into Jerusalem. Today, we continue
to use palms in most churches on
this Sunday, Catholic and
Protestant alike. It is one of those
traditions of worship that, no
matter how far apart we may seem
at times, we continue to share due
to our common heritage.
But Palm Sunday is also known as
Passion Sunday, because we hear
The commonality found in the worship on this particular Sunday
seems to highlight the fundamental
truth in the observance: Jesus
Christ died for everyone. He did not
die on a cross for just Catholics, or
just Orthodox, or just Protestants.
Whether one acknowledges it or
not, he was crucified for all those
who are born of man. Today, we

done for us but also for what he
has done for all of creation

Saint Joseph Annual Picnic will be held

for donations of Theme Baskets or money donations for The Theme Basket
Booth with a value of $25.00 or more.
This is a great idea for organizations,
businesses, or individuals to donate.

Picnic, Baby, Toddlers, Fishing,
Arts and Crafts,
Beach, and many
more. Due to the
Indiana Gaming
Commission baskets cannot contain any
alcohol. These baskets will be raffled off
during the picnic.

Saint Benedict Cathedral Good Friday
morning and Holy Saturday morning
at 9:00 AM (CT) for the celebration of
Morning Prayer. Morning Prayer consists
of the singing of psalms and canticles, the
reading of Scripture, homily, and intercessions. This is a great opportunity for families, RCIA or religious education groups,
and anyone looking to give thanks to God
in prayer in those last days before Easter.

SHARING THE GOSPEL
Your mom tells you, "Grandma
should be here any minute." You
watch out your window for her
little red car to come down your
street. After she parks her car, you
run out to meet her. You are so
happy she came to visit! The people
in today's Gospel were waiting for a
king to come. This king would ride
into Jerusalem, not in a little red
car, but on a donkey. When the

people saw Jesus riding on the donkey, they knew he was the king that
they were waiting for. They ran out
to meet him and waved palm
branches in the air. They were so
happy he came.
