MARCH 22, 2015
“Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness, in the greatness
of your compassion wipe out my offense. Thoroughly wash me
from my guilt and of my sin cleanse me.” Psalm 51
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
This Tuesday is our Diocesan Day of Penance. Local churches throughout our Diocese will be open for the
Sacrament of Reconciliation on Tuesday, March 24 th between 12:30pm - 7:30pm. Here at St. Rita’s our
church will be open for private prayer with Exposition of the Eucharist. Also that evening, beginning at 6:00pm
we will have our Soup Supper in Room 1 and a Lenten presentation in the church at 6:45pm.
Come and bring the family for this important event!
This weekend we welcomed our Pre-Cana couples from throughout our Diocese at the 5:00pm mass. I extend
my gratitude to our parish Pre-Cana team members for making this preparation day so special for our engaged
couples.
Palm Sunday is next weekend along with the beginning of Holy Week. We will have fresh palm branches for
distribution at all the masses and read from the Lord’s Passion.
May God bless you this week!
Fr. Gonyo

St. Rita School
Spirit of Learning Corner
Did you know ? . . .
+ St. Rita School students celebrated St. Patrick's day
in green last week. If you stopped in you sure would
have seen a lot of it!
+ Last week's 5th and 6th grade musical, "At the
Bandstand" was a lot of fun to see! The 6th graders did a
great job sharing all of that fun and the 5 th graders were
a great support as the choir.
+ Each week for the last few weeks, the 5 th and 6th
grade classes, individually, were invited to attend a
parish daily morning mass. This special experience was
appreciated by the students. One 5th grader remarked,
"Daily mass is different. We only sang one song. My
favorite part was standing around the altar. That was
something I've never done. It was very special".
+ Do you know someone who should hear about our
wonderful Catholic school? Have them call the school
office at 671-3132 and arrange for a tour. We'd love to
show off all the joy St. Rita's has to offer.
