THEOLOGY OF THE BODY ADULT FORMATION CLASSES Did you miss the Introduction to Theology of the Body two Lents ago? Deacon Bob will be having “Theology of the Body” classes on Thursday evenings at 7pm. On Thursday, May 7th they will be at St. Andrew Parish Center. The class site will rotate between the three parishes. If you are interested please contact Deacon Bob at 320-444-1351 but they were all afraid of him….” (Acts 9:26) Who could blame them for being afraid of Saul? After all, to them, he was their persecutor, the farthest thing from a disciple. How could they trust him? Why should they trust him? I remember the first time I had my expectations of another person completely confounded. It was a college professor whose severe appearance—fierce eyes and a Lincoln-type beard—and strict demeanor terrified me, despite the distance between his podium and my desk. A point came, however, when I had to go speak with him. I had no choice. And the person I encountered was unfailingly kind and helpful. Not a bit the monster I had expected. Those disciples had far more reason than I to be cautious. Excellent reason, in fact. But the incident shows once more how important it is to keep hearts and minds open, willing to be surprised by others—and by the God who can transform the hardest heart. God, give me the grace to be open to the surprising ways you can change hearts—even mine. Amy Welborn “Living With Christ” Bible Readings for this Week (May 3-9) 5th Sunday of Easter Sun.
