SPRING 2015
FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe but we are in the final quarter of the school year.
Plans are being made for the 2015-2016 school year which will begin
on August 13, 2015 with parent orientation in the gym and will
include a full day of school. The full calendar is being printed and
will be sent as soon as we can get it in the mail.

influenced the lives of many of our students. It will be very difficult
to replace such a dedicated teacher when she retires at the end of this
school year. She will be missed.

We are very proud of Coach Marion Jones who will be honored as one

Catholic School that he is receiving this national recognition. Coach
Jones will travel to California in April to receive his award.

this year’s eighth grade class. It is a wonderful community building

FROM THE PTO PRESIDENT...
Dear Parents,
We did it! With your generosity and the work of the “Swing into Auction 2015” Gala and Auction committee, we were able to meet and
exceed our fundraising goals for this school year. Cathy Hollerbach,
Ana Patrick, their Auction committee, and numerous parent and faculty volunteers contributed to an outstanding gala on January 31st. The
festive evening included 465 guests, a beautiful honoree, great food,
finds, fun, fellowship, and a general swingin' good time! Through the
proceeds of all the PTO efforts, we are able to support the school in
many ways, including the following:
• $43,000 to support the school’s operating expenses
• $52,000 to support the faculty through bonuses and incentives
• $4,000 to support the faculty through various hospitality functions
• $5,700 to support our library programs + over 675 new books donated
to the library, classrooms, and counselors for SVdP students’ use
• $26,670 to support the Adopt-A-Student program
Used Uniforms: Directors Monica Cruces and Mauria Still, in
conjunction with their committee, are responsible for organizing and
managing the used uniform and lost & found inventory. Thank you
for your continual efforts in this valuable service to our school
families.
Looking forward …
Donna McClure, Monica Smith, and Maureen Swanson are busy
planning the Style Show and Luncheon, “No Place I’d Rather Be”,
featuring the SVdP eighth grade class of 2015, and honoring Joey
Mann with the “2015 Legacy of Excellence Award.” She has been
beloved by students, parents, and faculty of the St. Vincent de Paul

group in February. We invited several dads to come
talk to Mrs. Sears about the school. The meeting was
well-received.
The Student Affairs Committee continues to utilize
Beta Club members as greeters at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00

teammates, Big Buddies, and/or friends, please
consider attending this year’s Style Show and
Luncheon to fondly send our eighth graders off to
high school and honor Mrs. Mann.
Mimosas and a silent auction will start at 10:30am.

Science and Technology seem to move even faster than our kids, and the St. Vincent de Paul Dad’s Club is focused on
closing this technology gap for all of our students. Hands-on access to the latest technology like tablets, cloud software,
and computers gives each student the ability to use and learn what is here today and also to develop a solid foundation
to adapt to what is on the tech horizon. Besides, someone has to be the tech support at home!
We would love to have you come out and join us for a fun day of golf, fellowship, and prizes and especially stories about
how great your drive was or that incredible putt. The event is Thursday, April 16th, 2015 at Wildcat Golf Club.
