May 2015
Dear Parents,
Spring weather is finally here! With that in mind, I would like to remind you of our guidelines for the children’s clothing. These guidelines are in no way to stress conformity, but are intended to keep the students
safe and maintain an environment appropriate for young children.







Sandals are appropriate, but flip flops are not (safety)
No inappropriate messages, including tobacco or alcohol messages.
Shorts are to be of a reasonable length. Our standard is that they may be no shorter than the fingertips with arms held at the side of the student’s body.
No bike shorts or clothing made of Lycra.
No mini-skirts or spaghetti strap tank tops.
No hip hugger pants that would expose a student’s backside while sitting or bending.
No pants so loose that they expose the wearer’s underwear.
Please monitor the weather and make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the day, since most
students are outside for at least 15 minutes, 2 to 3 times a day.
Congratulations to all of our students who competed at the History Day State Finals in DeWitt. We had
two of our fifth graders place in the State Finals History Day competition on April 26th. The results of students that placed are as follows:
5th Grade-Individual Websites-3rd Place- Amber Curtis-Neil Armstrong
5th Grade- Individual Paper- 2nd Place-Caden Alexander-Streeter
Two of our wonderful teachers, Mrs. Suzanne Belinski and Ms. Connie Rhodes, will be retiring at the end
of this school year. We would like to thank them for all of their years educating children at Soo Township
School. They have touched student’s hearts and changed lives. We wish them both much happiness and
relaxation during this next chapter of their lives!
Sincerely,
Diane M. Chevillot
