Bedrocan’s newly licensed Canadian facility is ramping up
for domestic production. This past month, Bedrocan
became the first organization to legally import live
genetics (plant clones) of medical cannabis into Canada
from The Netherlands. The clones have settled nicely into their new home, and
are under the careful supervision of our master grow

Bedrocan also sponsored a lunch­time symposium
where Dr. Martin A. Katzman presented on the topic
of “Medical Cannabis: Psychiatry’s New Frontier
Towards Wellness”. Dr. Katzman’s clinical work deals chiefly with the diagnosis
and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, disorders
with executive dysfunction, disordered cognition and
attentional deficits, as well as chronic pain disorders. In his presentation, Dr. Katzman provided an overview on
the clinical evidence for medical cannabis in the field of
mental health. He also spoke on the importance of
standardization and product consistency. The event was
very well attended by leading physicians from across the
country. Dr. Martin A. Katzman is the Clinic Director of the START
Clinic (Stress, Trauma, Anxiety Rehabilitation and
Treatment) for Mood and Anxiety Disorders. He is a faculty
member of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (Laurentian and Lakehead University) as
well as the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He is also appointed in the
Department of Psychology at Lakehead University and is a member of the Faculty of
Psychology at Adler School of Professional Studies. Dr. Katzman was trained at the University
of Toronto, first undertaking his B.Sc. in Psychology and Neuroscience, and subsequently his
medical training and residency in Psychiatry. He then undertook a research fellowship

PATIENT ADVISORY BOARD (PAB) INAUGURAL MEETING
The Medical Cannabis Industry's First Patient Advisory Board to Hold Inaugural
Meeting in April 2015 in Toronto.
Bedrocan's Patient Advisory Board (PAB) will be gathering for the first meeting in April 2015.
The group of medical cannabis patients will converge in Toronto for a full­day meeting. There
are four main areas of interest the PAB members have indicated they want to focus on: Feedback ­ providing Patient feedback to Bedrocan
Patient Tools ­ developing Patient education tools
Education ­ enhancing the capabilities of the Patient Advisory Board
Advocacy ­ developing Patient advocacy projects
The PAB will provide a formal venue for patients to provide input to Bedrocan for the purposes
of improving the patient experience, and ensuring that patients are empowered to continue
shaping the medical cannabis landscape. The PAB will be facilitated by Hilary Black, an established patient advocate who brings a wealth
of experience from 18 years of working directly with patients and educating the public,
government and medical community about medical cannabis.

Coverage of Medical Cannabis
Jonathan Zaid is a patient advocate and founder of Canadians for Fair Access to Medical
Marijuana (CFAMM). Jonathan successfully persuaded his university to include medical
cannabis under his student insurance plan. His recent successes at gaining insurance coverage for medical cannabis have been noticed in
