Dear BHS,
Important Links
Second semester is well underway with mid-term grades mailed home on
April 16th. Bellingham High School offers a range of opportunities when
students need additional help in their classes:
Keep up to date on
everything “Red
Raider” with these
helpful links.
 The first contact should be student to teacher. Many teachers
have days they are available either before or after school to
work with students. Students should contact their teacher to
schedule a time to meet.
 Bellingham High Library is open until 3:45.

 Raideraide, a student support system built into the daily
schedule, is also a time that students can work with teachers,
tutors or mentors for additional help. Students can work in their
Raideraide group or make arrangements with their Raideraide
teacher to meet with others.
 Bellingham High School Tutoring Center runs Monday-Thursday
2:15-4:00 in the second floor computer lab. There are three
staff and other college mentors who work with the students
needing academic help. Spanish tutors are also available in the
tutoring center. The staff provide snacks and bus passes for
students who attend.
 BHS has a Student Success Coordinator, Peter Hutchinson, as well
as an AmeriCorp volunteer, Ahhria Fosdyck, to support students
who have individual concerns. Give them a call!

The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) to the Superintendent includes two
representatives from each school. The group meets monthly and anyone
is welcome to attend. Meeting minutes are posted online. During the
March meeting, the committee received updates about the work on
school schedules and how we are continuing to pursue other options to
achieve our goals: A later start time for high school supported by medical
research, flexible high school scheduling to meet the state’s new 24credit graduation requirements, and more course/elective options for
middle and high school students.
