Hello Red Raider FamiliesWith the end of third quarter upon us, we are officially three quarters of the
way through the 2014-15 school year. Students have been wrapping up work with
their teachers in preparation for third quarter grades being completed and
counselors have been working with students preparing schedules for next school
year. This is an exciting time as all of our students begin to think about what is
next for them!
Our Counseling Office has just completed the scheduling process with the
incoming classes of 2016-2019. There are a few reminders of specific interest to
the incoming senior class, but that provide a good preview for all students, that
the Counseling Office wanted to share:
Class of 2016 — Now is the time to start preparing for your senior year!

The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) to the Superintendent includes two
representatives from each school. The group meets monthly and anyone is
welcome to attend. Meeting minutes are posted online. During the March
meeting, the committee received updates about the work on school schedules
and how we are continuing to pursue other options to achieve our goals: A later
start time for high school supported by medical research, flexible high school
scheduling to meet the state’s new 24-credit graduation requirements, and more
course/elective options for middle and high school students.

Senior Justina Allen was named the WIAA 2A Softball Athlete of the Week for
this past week. During 4 games last week, Justina was very productive for
the Red Raiders. She had a .733 batting average, 3 doubles, 5 runs scored,
12 runs batted in, and committed no errors on defense. Nice work, Justina!
The PTSA has been busy this 2014/2015 school year; I am excited to report that the PTSA is currently 200 members strong! This
shows us that the bridge between families and schools in our community are going stronger. Together we are working toward
improving our school programs to benefit our students. It is our overall purpose to make every student's potential a reality by
engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all students. This year we have had the opportunity to fund
the following programs:
·
Staff appreciation meals
·
Support auction, baseball & football booster clubs
·
$1,000 to InvestEd to support direct student needs
·
Mannequins for CPR Class
·
Art supplies for new watercolor class
·
Centrifuge (for DNR sampling)
·
Bus passes for tutoring center
·
Guest speakers/events (Suicide Prevention, Decoding Dyslexia)
·
Scholarships, field trips, student support, and theater productions
We are looking forward to the rest of the year has to bring!
