Medical Assistance: St. John’s Ambulance members will be available on site if anyone needs medical assistance. Make sure to familiarise yourself with their designated location as you arrive. If you feel you cannot continue with the race at any stage please flag down a marshal for help. If you feel unwell please do not continue – your health is important to us! If you take any medications please make sure to bring them with you on the day (Ventolin, insulin, enzymes, epi-pen etc.) Preparation: What to wear – whatever you are comfortable exercising in and don’t forget to wear a red T-shirt to show your support for Cystic Fibrosis. Hydrate – make sure you have had enough water leading up to the race and bring some with you on the day. We will be handing out small bottles of water in case you forget. Toilets – There will be facilities open in the park. About the Course: Breathe Life for Cystic Fibrosis Geelong will be held at Barwon Valley Park, Geelong. There will be one starting point for both the 4 and 8km runs and the 3.5km walk. It will make for a very beautiful and scenic Run or walk as we raise awareness and money for Cystic Fibrosis. There will be a water station at the 3.5km mark. Bottles of water are also available at the finish line. Food and Drink: There will be a BBQ with sausages and bacon and egg rolls and coffee from the City to Surf Mobile Café. Water and fruit will be available at the finish line. Entertainment: Face painting, Jumping castle, fairies, cheerleaders, tappers, hula Hooper’s and more. Remember to bring some gold coins along for a donation. Fundraising: All walkers and runners are encouraged to fundraise via http://breathelifeforcf2015.gofundraise.com.au/ where you can make a personal fundraising page – proceeds will go directly to the RCH CF Research Trust. You can continue fundraising until 30th June 2015. GEELONG CYSTIC FIBROSIS SUPPORT GROUP INC. The Geelong Cystic Fibrosis Support Group was formed by parents of children with CF, to support all people with Cystic Fibrosis and their families in the Geelong region and to raise community awareness about CF as an INHERITED condition. There are over 55 children and adults affected by CF in the Greater Geelong region. We are all volunteers and we fundraise to help those affected, with treatment costs and to fund vital research.
