Our Week 9 Working Bee
Thank you to our wonderful P&C, Staff and Students who got stuck in at our Working Bee on Friday last. Many
hands made very light work of a clean-up of the gardens between the Admin Block and B Block.
The work extended to the playground side of D Block (Library) and out to the Huntley Street side of the school.
The work has really spruced the place up and with a bit of luck the heavens will open over the holidays and everything will be an emerald green by the time our ANZAC Ceremony rolls around.
Thank you again to the P&C, Staff and Students who helped out. We appreciate your dedication and time.
Have a lovely Easter break.

EMERALD TOUCH FOOTBALL
To All Schools,
Emerald Touch will be still running the school touch competition this year with some changes. As the year sevens are at high school
now Emerald touch committee have decided that the competition will be grade 3/4 and grade 5/6. We will also be offering mini touch
(ball skills/ modify touch rules) for grades 1&2. The mini touch will be all schools combined and run by the touch committee. For mini
touch to run we need a minimum of 12 kids to join otherwise it will not only go ahead. Therefore could all schools please send out of
letter of interest to play mini touch to all grade 1 and 2 children so we can assess if we will have enough players. Below is information
regarding both competition.
Grade 3/4 & 5/6 competition
Will start on the Wednesday 13th May 2015.
The competition will run for 10 weeks , breaking only for school holidays and the show holiday.
Game times will be advised once Emerald touch knows the number of teams in the competition.
All teams must have a school coach.
The grand final day will be Wednesday the 5th of August 2015.
It will cost $50 per player (we have discounted the fees this year due to the current financial strain in Emerald).
Grade 1 & 2 Mini Touch
It will start on the 27th of May 2015.
The Mini touch comp will run for 8 weeks, breaking only for school holidays and the show holiday.
Touch Committee will run mini touch however parents are more than welcome to help.
The grand final day will be Wednesday the 5th of August 2015.
It will cost $40 to play mini touch.
For children to play in the above comps we will need a registration form filled out by their parents and payment made before they take
the field. Usually Emerald touch has a sign on day for school touch and we take the rego forms and payments. However this year we
would like if the schools could please collect all registration forms and payments by 8th of May and hand them to Krystle to process.
Krystle can come to the schools to collect or you can drop them off and once processed she will write out receipts and hand them to
you. We would like to try taking registration this way as it will help us and the school make sure everyone has registered for the comp. If
your school cannot take the registration and payment please let me know and we will arrange a sign on day.
The grand finals will be the 5th of August so if any schools have camps on the week of the 3rd of August please let me know ASAP so we
can try and change the date. All players (including mini touch) will play on the grand final day and the will all receive a trophy, a drink
and a sausage on bread.
Please find attached the registration forms for the school competitions and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact
Krystle.
Kind Regards

EMERALD TOUCH FOOTBALL
Hi Everyone,
Emerald Touch will be holding a junior development day on Saturday the 18th of April at the touch fields. All children between the age of
8 to 18 are welcome to attend the free development day. Tracey Upton and Damon Moore will be running drills and skills along with
some rep CQ Bulls players. This is a great opportunity for our children to learn some valuable skills for the game of Touch Football and
all Skill levels are welcome. It will begin at 9am sharp and finish at 12pm and children will need to bring water, hat and sneakers.
Emerald Touch will also be holding a free Level one coaching course on Saturday the 18th of April as well. This free course is for any
interested people over the age of 18 who would like to learn how to coach touch to young children. The course will begin at 9am and
finish about 12pm and will be at the touch fields.
If any children or adults are interested in the development day or coaching course please contact me by the 10th of April on 0404 646
360 or email [email protected] with their details so we know how many people are attending. If you have any questions
please do not hesitate to contact me.

TAKE HOME A BIG BROTHER OR BIG SISTER
Give your children the wonderful experience of having an international ‘big brother’ or ‘big sister’ by
hosting one of our exceptional, carefully-screened international students for a 3, 5 or 10 month
program. We have students aged 15-18 arriving from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia in July
2015 seeking welcoming families all over Australia, in both rural and urban communities. They will live like
a local, attend a local secondary school, arrive with their own spending money and comprehensive
insurance cover – all arranged by Southern Cross Cultural Exchange. Capture the spirit of family and
friendship - visit us on Facebook or at www.scce.com.au, email [email protected] or call us toll free
on 1800 500 501 to request a booklet of international student.
