Summary of Site and Services
Carewest George Boyack opened its doors to the Calgary community in 1969 and has since grown to offer programs
and services for 221 long-term care residents. Its programs are as follows:
Secured Dementia Care
For cognitively complex residents,
whose care needs cannot be met in
a supportive living environment and
who require professional nursing care
in a secure environment.

Amenities at George Boyack include
a cafeteria, gift shop, hair salon,
outdoor gardens, washer/dryer for
personal use, chapel, and dining
rooms for resident use.
Therapy Services
Activities can be organized on a
regular basis to enhance well‐being
and respond to physical, emotional,
intellectual, spiritual, cultural and
sensory needs.
Medically Complex Care
For medically complex residents
whose care needs cannot be met
in a Supportive Living environment
and who require professional nursing care. Their primary diagnosis is
medical and may have a secondary
diagnosis of cognitive impairment.

Meal Services
Carewest Food Services strives to
create and serve healthy, nutritious meals with friendly service in
a relaxed environment. Most special
dietary requirements can be met and
we welcome feedback from residents
and families.
Rooms
All our private and semi-private suites
come equipped with a three‐piece
ensuite. Each suite is furnished with
a bed, small nightstand and a wardrobe/closet. George Boyack is a completely smoke‐free environment.
Carewest George Boyack is also host to many community groups that bring specialized services and programming into the care centre for loved
ones, including Ismaili prayer groups, Dim Sum breakfast, among others.
