Recent research indicates that there is no single approach that is highly effective for all individuals with autism and
related disorders, however, most professionals working with this population are trained in implementing a single
intervention approach. The question then becomes, what do you do when the selected intervention is not working?
For professionals in the field, it becomes critical to understand the often-complex underlying influences that may be
derailing progress for an individual, and to further have a set of solutions to utilize when intervention fails to address
the specific needs of an individual.

About Your Program Instructor
Jennie Trocchio-Kirkland, Ph.D. is an autism educator and consultant with over 10 years of experience
evaluating, educating, and creating programs for individuals with autism and related disorders. Dr. Kirkland
is the founder of Autism Education and Development Solutions, an organization created to address real life
challenges with concrete solutions to realize each child’s potential. Previously, Dr. Kirkland has worked in both
public and private settings, and founded the only DIR/Floortime school in the state of FL, where she served
as the lead teacher, director of education, and president of the board of directors. Here, she established the
school’s educational curricula, oversaw the therapeutic program, coordinated school-based events, and related
programing. She is an advanced DIR/Floortime provider, certified in K-12 special education, and endorsed in the
areas of autism, reading, and ESOL. Committed to remaining on the leading edge, she actively seeks out the most
progressive methods and experts in the field. Dr. Kirkland has considerable experience speaking at national and
local organizations to groups of all sizes, consisting of both professional and lay audiences. She earned her BS
and MS from the University of Miami in Special Education, and her Ph.D. from Barry University in Leadership and
Special Education with a focus in autism.

SATISFACTORY COMPLETION
Participants must pay tuition fee, sign in, attend the entire seminar, complete an evaluation and sign out in order to
receive a certificate of completion. Participants not fulfilling these requirements will not receive a certificate. Failure to
