Previously, Dr. Kirkland has worked in both public and private settings, and founded the only DIR/Floortime school in the state of FL, where she served as the lead teacher, director of education, and president of the board of directors. Here, she established the school’s educational curricula, oversaw the therapeutic program, coordinated school-based events, and related programing. She is an advanced DIR/Floortime provider, certified in K-12 special education, and endorsed in the areas of autism, reading, and ESOL.
