Discussion and Research Collaboration Opportunities with
Keysight Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
Date: 16th March 2015 (Monday)
Time: 10.30 am – 3.00 pm
Venue: Keysight Technologies, Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang.
This meeting was attended by 8 lecturers from School of Computer and Communication Engineering,
UniMAP, 2 delegates from Sirim Measurement Technologies (SMT) and 3 representatives from
Keysight Technologies. The meeting provided an opportunity for both information exchange, regarding
appropriate regulatory and research developments, and for possible collaboration.
Opening of the meeting:
Mrs Kar In Cheah, representative from Keysight Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd welcomed the
participants to the round-table meeting of representatives of UniMAP and Sirim Measurement
Technologies. She welcomed the delegacies to the Keysight Technology Malaysia, stating that it was
an honour for the company to host such an important event. The event then proceeded with a
Keysight overview presentation, presented by Mr Muthu Kumaran representative from Keysight
Technologies, Malaysia. Mr Muthu Kumaran then introduced the Keysight Technologies delegates and
invited participant to introduce themselves, giving their affiliations. The list of the participants is
attached as attachment A.
Discussion:
UniMAP sharing session was started by Dr. Thennarasan Sabapathy from Communication Engineering.
His presentation was regarding antenna design and reconfigurable antenna. Next, followed by Dr
Rozmie Othman presentation on software testing, T-Way Testing. Before lunch break, the UniMAP
sharing session was ended by Dr Ku Nurul Fazira Ku Azir presentation representing Computer
Engineering regarding Ubiquitous Computing. Presentation was successfully presented as it draws
attention Keysight Technologies.
Keysight Tour:
After lunch break, all delegates were brought to the showroom of Keysight Technologies, where the
history of Keysight is explain thoroughly by Mrs Ponny. All of their invention, from software and
hardware were displayed in the showroom and giving so much information regarding the products that
have been produced by Keysight Technologies. A final key theme discussed in the session was the need
to possible collaboration between (Engineering council/SMT/ Keysight Sales and UNIMAP) also
happen during the tour.
Closing Session:
Mrs Kar In Cheah has given a speech during the closing ceremony and later sharing an information
regarding internship program that offered by Keysight Technologies. The session is end by presentation
form Mr Kamal Ariffin from Sirim Measurement Technologies. The event dispersed at 3.00 pm.
