development professional to help build their organization’s capacity to generate funding support.

Job Overview:
EGG is seeking a part time Development Manager who will assist the organization, its chapter offices,
and its Board of Directors in strengthening financial support networks through grant research and grantwriting, vetting potential funders, outreach efforts, and individual cultivation.
Initially, this position will be part -time, but it is expected to ramp up to possibly full- time depending on the
success of the development effort. The position will has flexibility in terms of location, with a preference
for the San Francisco Bay Area.
Development Manager duties include:
● Development / Fundraising support for EGG (80%)
○ Writing (letter of interest, budgets, grant proposals, powerpoints)
○ Outreach and relationship building (e.g. setting up meetings with foundation program
officers)

Follow up and stewardship of current and potential donors
Database management
Board and staff fundraising support
Grant reporting
Marketing and Communications assistance (20%)
○ Development and iteration of marketing materials and collateral (brochure, powerpoints,
solicitation letters, videos, etc.)
○ Advising on “the look and feel” of EGG materials, website, and social media and, if
relevant, assisting with their revision and updating
○ Strengthening mechanisms for outreach and follow--up communication to EGG
supporters (emails, newsletters, social media, press releases, etc.)
Qualifications:
● Excellent writing, communication, and project management skills, preferably with nonprofit or
fundraising experience
● Bachelor’s degree preferred
● 2-4 years or more of nonprofit development experience in prospect research, grant writing, and
fundraising or equivalent
● Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
● Excellent computer / software / web skills
○ Proficient with MS Office Suite
○ Proficient with all aspects of Google Drive
● Ability to work independently in an often unstructured environment
○ Entrepreneurial self--starter who is comfortable in a close--knit, team--oriented setting
○ Flexibility and eagerness to learn and work on different tasks as needed
○ Excellent organizational, project and time management skills
● Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, oral, and written communication
● Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
● Attention to detail
● Ability to solicit and implement feedback from key stakeholders
● Interest/experience in the nonprofit and social change sectors generally, and the international
development and education areas in particular, a plus
