Thank You So Very Much
Mrs. Hannon, Mrs. Lonnemann, all the teachers, and all the staff here at Blessed
Sacrament School would like to give a big thank you to all the parents who made staff
appreciation week so lovely. The lunches were delicious, the appreciation cards were
adorable, and the generosity overwhelming. We are truly blessed to have such
wonderful, involved, and thoughtful parents as you. Thank you all so very much.
Coming Soon...
We know how busy everyone’s schedules are and how hard it can be for some to time
everything so they can pick up the kids at the end of school. With that in mind, next
school year, Blessed Sacrament School will be offering after care at school. Children,
Inc. will be providing care from 2:40 PM to 6:00 PM each school day. This state
certified organization will provide a snack, playtime and homework time for our
students.
If you are interested, click here for an application. More information about Children,
Inc. can be found here.

Dear Kara,
Dear Kara
I read your article last week about
test taking tips. You said that people
should do the easy questions first and look for
clues to the harder questions. Do you have any
other tips? Maybe something for multiple
choice tests?
-Base-Covering StudentDear Base-Covering,
Here are a couple test-taking tips for you that
will help with multiple choice tests. Read the entire question and all the choices carefully. Then
eliminate the incorrect choices, so that you have
fewer options from which to choose. If you
absolutely need to guess, often the answer that
is longer & more detailed is the correct option.
Also, statistics have shown that with 4-choice
tests, B is slightly more likely to be correct, and
on 5-choice tests, E is slightly more likely to be
correct, but not by much. The answers “none of
the above” and “all of the above” are the correct
answer 52% of the time.
Of course, none of these tips are a substitute
for studying well! Good luck!

-Pedicurious-
Dear Faith Lift,
Why does the Church make such
a big deal out of washing feet on
Holy Thursday?
Dear Pedicurious,
Feet are a lot like souls. (Some might point out
that they even have soles). Feet take the brunt of
everything that we do. They are unique to us in
size, shape, and detail. They get dirty, worn,
tired, and in time can become bent and calloused
with age. We try to keep them looking as nice as
possible, or at least hidden in our shoes. Some of
us are more sensitive to their irregularities than
others.
In Jesus’ day, when people wore less protective
shoes than ours, walked in dirty streets where
animals also walked, and never even heard of
pedicures, washing someone’s feet was a
disagreeable job indeed, reserved for servants of
the lowest rank. When Jesus washed the feet of
his disciples on the night he instituted the
Eucharist, he taught them what Eucharist is all
about.
On Holy Thursday, we acknowledge our
imperfection, our need for the assistance of one
another, our desire to be washed and healed, to
have our calloused selves renewed and our souls
refreshed. We also accept that Eucharist
demands that we tend to one another’s needs, even
when – or perhaps especially when it’s
disagreeable.

This Week In The Cafeteria
Got Milk...Bottles?
Kindergarten is looking to collect some milk
jugs. So scarf those cookies, pound that
cake, and gobble those goodies...and then
wash them down with a big glass of milk.
It’s for the children. (Do please remember
to wash them out before donating them.)
Next Tuesday, the 31st, the cafeteria will be serving
baked rotini, primavera vegetables, spinach salad, and
breadsticks.
