Bayer-Austin Internship Information Packet

Bayer-Austin-GCCISD Internship
2015 Internship
The Bayer – Austin – GCCISD Internship began in the spring of 2012. It is a one-year program designed
for three (3) graduating GCCISD Career & Technical Education students interested in pursuing a career in the
construction and maintenance industry. The purpose of the program is to provide youth with an opportunity
to identify the craft in which they excel through a series of maintenance rotations under the direction of a
mentor.
To qualify for the Internship Program, students must have completed their senior year prior to the
start of the program and must be 18 years of age by June 15th and have a Social Security card and State
ID/driver’s license. This is a competitive program and an interview committee will evaluate each applicant for
demonstration of construction aptitude and skills recorded on resumes and exhibited during the interview
process, as well as and an interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry. Students and parents
should ready this information packet closely to be sure they fully understand the internship expectations and
will be able to fully commit to the program.
