I understand that during the Startup Weekend Toronto – Youth Edition, my photograph and/or
the photograph of my child may be taken Up Global, Startup Weekend Toronto – Youth Edition,
producers, sponsors, organizers, and/or assigns. I agree that my photograph and/or the
photograph of my child, including video photography, or other reproduction of my likeness or the
likeness of my child, may be used without charge by Up Global, Startup Weekend Toronto –
Youth Edition, producers, sponsors, organizers, and/or its assigns for such purpose as they
deem appropriate.

be responsible for making all arrangements for drop off and pick up from the program. I have

What Is Startup Weekend?
Startup Weekend Toronto – Youth Edition is a great event for youth to learn more about business and
entrepreneurship by coming together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch lean
startups. Startup Weekend is a global non-profit organization of active and empowered entrepreneurs
who are learning the basics of founding start-ups and launching successful ventures. You can learn

Who Should Attend?
Grade 7 to 12 students interested in learning more about business and entrepreneurship.

● Foster entrepreneurial skills such as innovative thinking, effective communication, and teamwork
● Build strong community and peer connections through networking and event participation
● Develop transferable skills with a strong emphasis on experiential education
● Understand business concepts such as ideation, lean launch, pivoting, product development,
minimum viable products, presentations, customer validation, and more
● Enhance students resumes for future educational (i.e. post-secondary applications) and professional
endeavors

How Can You Contribute To Startup Weekend?
Volunteers and sponsors are absolutely vital to making Startup Weekend a successful event! For the
Youth Edition, we are looking for passionate volunteers and sponsors who want to inspire and
empower Grade 7 to 12 students in the Greater Toronto Area to learn more about business and
entrepreneurship.
