The series gives participants the opportunity to hear God’s story through the works of contemporary writers and composers. Before class each week, participants will be invited to study a passage of Scripture (homework… gotta love it!), the focus of further exploration in class. Sundays will begin with “story time,” wherein God’s story will be expanded in a reading from Walter Wangerin, Jr.’s The Book of God. Discussion/reflection about what we’ve read and heard will follow. A concluding musical selection is aimed at providing yet another avenue for appreciation of the richness of God’s revelation. This Sunday, February 22 nd, we’ll be looking at the story of Jesus Baptism. Those interested in joining the group may want to brush up on Mark1:115. RECTOR SEARCH UPDATE We have completed phase I and phase II of the Rector Search process. The Team Building and Profile phases are done. We have completed the survey, the Office of Transition Portfolio (to be used on the national church website), which candidates will review to help determine if they want to apply for the vacant rector’s position, and the Parish Profile. The Parish Profile will be made available through the Christ Church website, where parishioners will be able to review and/or download it. The Parish Profile is awaiting the Bishop’s approval. The next phase is phase III, Nominations, which will begin as soon as the Parish Profile is approved by the Bishop and the Vestry. During this phase, we will be seeking applications from potential candidates as they are revealed to us by the Bishop, by Parishioners and directly by potential candidates themselves. Look for the graphic above on our bulletin board in the Narthex. We will use it to keep you informed of progress along with periodic weekly newsletter updates.
