If the Recreation Department cancels a program/
class, a refund will be given. Credit card
convenience fees are non-refundable. If a
session is cancelled due to weather or other
problems, an effort will be made to schedule a
make-up session. If a make-up session cannot be
scheduled, no partial refund will be made.
Program cancellations due to weather conditions
will be announced on Channels 3, 4, 6 & 8, 105.5,
104.7, 102.3 FM & 980 AM, or the individual may
call the Recreation Department at 446-4128.
Evening activities will be cancelled by 3:00 pm.
Whenever Groton schools is cancelled or
closed early, programs will be cancelled.

KARATE
Program will be offered to boys and girls and will run in five week sessions. The kids will learn Concentration,
Self-Confidence, and Listening Skills while practicing the art of modern and traditional Tai Kwon Do.
Through drills, students will; earn respect, manners, self-defense (Stranger Danger), and improved fitness.
This is an introductory program and uniforms are not required for the first 5 weeks.

SUMMER TENNIS LESSONS
This Tennis Program will be fundamental-based and as
the weeks progress, new aspects of tennis will be
introduced and practiced. This program is open to
Youth aged 8-12 years, the Teen Clinic for Middle and
High school students, and the Adult Clinic.

The 2015 Summer Playground Program is offered to
children ages 4*-14. This program is designed to fill the
youth’s leisure time and expose them to activities that
will develop skills, self-esteem, character, as well as
physical abilities. Breakfast & Lunch are included .

This program will run from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Arts,
crafts, dramatic and creative exercises, group activities,
field trips will be offered. Story time, world outreach and
similar activities will also be incorporated. All groups will
be supervised during lunch. Due to insurance restrictions,
the staff must not leave the park to pick up lunches for the
children, so please plan accordingly.
Breakfast and lunch are provided at no cost.

12-14 YEAR OLD PROGRAM
Barracudas
This program has been designed to offer our 12-14 year
olds the opportunity to explore new venues and to develop
new skills that will help them to move onto the next level
of development. The program will emphasize teamwork,
community service, building friendships, and developing
new and useful life skills in a safe and enjoyable summer
environment. The participants in this program will also
have the opportunity to engage in additional off-site
adventures. Breakfast and lunch are provided at no cost.
There will be an additional entrance fee for some trips.

SUMMER READING
at Bill Memorial library is for grades 1-12 and will begin on
Tuesday, June 23, 2015 – August 11, 2015.
The theme this year is Every Hero Has a Story!
This program runs during regular library hours. The kickoff program on Tuesday,
June 23rd at 1:00 pm will feature our local community heroes!
SUMMER TIME STORY TIME
at Bill Memorial Library is a drop-in outdoor program that runs on Tuesdays
beginning July 7– August 11, 2015. This program begins at 10:30 am. In case of
inclement weather the program takes place inside in the Children’s Room.
PLAYGROUND RAINY DAYS
If it is raining or
threatening to
rain before playground starts,
the Washington Park site will
relocate to the West Side Middle
School site. West Side Middle
School site will meet rain or
shine and will be the designated
rain site for the 2015 season.
