LIFE SKILL DRAWING WINNERS We would like to congratulate the following students for being selected in our weekly life skills drawing: Kallahan Sears – Kdg, Kennedy Beaird – 1st grade, Kaitlyn King -­‐ 5th grade and – R’Ryeon Swan 3rd grade; are the winners for the past two weeks. ISTEP+ -­‐ Part 2 As most of you are probably aware students in grades 3 through 6 have started the online portion of the 2014-­‐15 ISTEP testing. Students will continue to test on a regular basis through May 8th. Once again we appreciate your help to ensure that your student/s are present and on time during the ISTEP testing window. BOYS’ & GIRLS’ TRACK The elementary track season is underway and our Emmons Eagles will be competing in two track meets. The first meet is a four way competition between Emmons, Liberty, Hums and Twin Branch and will be held at MHS on May 12th starting at 5:30pm. The second meet is the All City Track Meet and will be held on May 14th at MHS starting at 4:00pm. GROWING TOGETHER PRESCHOOL PROGRAM Mishawaka Schools will continue to offer two early childhood/preschool programs. The programs are offered at Beiger and LaSalle elementary. For more information see the attached flier. ATHLETIC SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION Athletic summer camp registrations are still open. Specific information about who to contact and dates and times of the camps will be sent home soon. If you have questions feel free to contact the MHS athletic office at 254-­‐7331. Spring/Summer Clothing Spring has finally arrived! The change in weather always brings a change in clothing. This is just a reminder that students need to come to school dressed appropriately. Flip flops and athletic sandals are not allowed. Shorts should be finger tip in length and sleeveless tops must have fabric that extends to the edge of the shoulder. Tank tops or spaghetti strap tops are not permitted. If you have questions about the School City of Mishawaka student dress code policy, please refer to page 15 of the Student/Parent handbook. Goodwill Community Job Fair On Wednesday May 6th the Goodwill Community Career Center in Mishawaka will be hosting a job fair. The Career Center is located at 3420 Grape Road and is located next to the Goodwill Retail Store. The event is scheduled from 1pm to 4pm and will host over 20 employers from the Michiana area offering over 400 job openings.
