Vice-Chancellor`s STEM camp student application guidelines

STUDENT APPLICATION GUIDELINES
You must read and understand the following Student Application Guidelines and tick the
Statement of Obligation in the online application before submitting your online application.
1. HOW TO APPLY
Follow the steps below to complete your application to QUT’s Vice-Chancellor’s STEM Camp:
1. Complete the Online Application Form. Note: you will need to have all sections and
supporting documentation ready when completing the online application.
2. Answer the questions under the Statement of Purpose section, describing your interest in
science, technology, engineering, mathematics and health. We suggest writing this in Word
prior to beginning your application. Ensure you spellcheck your statement.
3. Ask your parent or guardian to complete and sign the Parent/Guardian consent form.
4. Meet with your Teacher, Head of Department/Faculty or Principal to discuss your application
and ask them to complete the Statement of Recommendation Form supporting your
application.
5. Provide us with a copy of your Term 4, Year 10 and Term 1, Year 11 high school academic
reports.
6. Submit your application online by 5pm, 25 May 2015.
PLEASE NOTE:
If your school only issues semester reports, your teacher can provide an indication of your
results addressed to the mail address below on school letterhead.
 A completed application does not guarantee acceptance into the Vice-Chancellor’s STEM
Camp.
 Offers of a place will be made on the basis of information given in your application.
 The decisions of the selection committee are final.
 Students must be able to stay for the duration of the Vice-Chancellor’s STEM Camp.
 Successful applications will be notified in writing in June.

2. SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION
This online application form must be completed in full, along with all supporting documentation
uploaded by 5pm, Monday 25 May 2015. Incomplete or late applications cannot be processed.
Should you have issues with your application or the upload of documentation please contact the QUT

For those students unable to complete the online application, a copy of the application form can be
obtained by contacting the QUT School Engagement Officer, and submitted by email to:

3. APPLICATION CHECKLIST
There are three sections on the application that must be completed. Please ensure that you allow
enough time for all parts of this application to be completed as three different people need to
contribute to your application.

4. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
Applicants must submit the complete application form and include the following supporting
documents. Documents can be uploaded online in Section 4.

5. AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION
Applicants will receive a confirmation email from QUT to confirm that their application has been
received. If you have not received a confirmation email in 48 hours please contact
[email protected] detailing when your application was sent and your name and school
details.
