What is the purpose of the research?
The purpose of this research is to investigate some of the factors that influence health outcomes.
Are you looking for people like me?
The research team is looking for individuals over the age of 17 who meet the following criteria:

have not experienced a concussion or mild traumatic brain injury;
have not experienced a diagnosis of a neurological or intellectual disorder (e.g., seizures, severe brain injury);
have not been treated by a mental health professional in the previous 12 months; or
have not taken medication for a mental health problem in the previous 12 months.
What will you ask me to do?
Your participation will involve completing a short (approximately 20 minute) online survey. An example of the
questions asked is: “Please rate the following symptom with regard to how much it has disturbed you in the last two
weeks: headaches.”
Are there any risks for me in taking part?
The research team does not believe there are any risks beyond normal day-to-day living associated with your
participation in this research.It should be noted that if you do agree to participate, you can withdraw from
participation during the project without comment or penalty.
Are there any benefits for me in taking part?
It is expected that this project will not benefit you directly. However, it may benefit clinicians by helping them gain an
understanding of the factors that influence athlete health.
Will I be compensated for my time?
We would very much appreciate your participation in this research.
To recognise your contribution, should you choose to participate, the research team will provide students
undertaking the units PYB100/012/102 with .5 bonus research points.
All other participants will enter the draw to win a $100 Coles Group & Myer gift card at the completion of the study.
