Times and Location
The Weston Pram Pushers group walks every Monday morning from
10:30 am to 11:30 am from the Cooleman Court shopping centre.
Volunteers are required to arrive at 10:15 at Communities@Work’s
Weston Campus, located in the Weston Creek Community Centre
next to Cooleman Court.
About the Program:
The Weston Pram Pushers welcomes mums, dads, grandparents and
carers to come along with their children for a walk in the Weston area.
This gives everyone involved the chance to socialise and build
friendships as well as get some exercise and fresh air. The group walks
to a nearby playground where the older children have a chance
to play for a while before walking back to Cooleman Court where the
group sits down for a coffee or tea together and a chat.
The Weston Pram Pushers is run by the Community Development
Program which is focused on inclusion, disadvantage, diversity, wellbeing and the environment. The program develops initiatives and
creates opportunities for people to form connections, share experiences,
participate in projects and activities and build on individual and
communal strengths. Community support can include service development, assisting groups to
develop good governance, seeking grant funding and facilitating group activities.
Duties:
 Meet and greet the parents, grandparents and carers who are participating in the walk
 Welcome new participants and help them to feel comfortable
 Accompany the group on the walk
 Assist with prams and pushers
 Ensure that children are supervised at all times
 Have a coffee and chat with the group after the walk in Cooleman Court (optional, no
reimbursement available)
Skills and Experience:
 Experienced with and comfortable around children
 Strong communication and listening skills
 Sound understanding of boundaries and confidentiality
Qualities:
 Empathetic, caring and unprejudiced
 Enthusiastic
 Confident, friendly and nonjudgmental
 Able to interact with and support the program’s stakeholders and team members in a friendly,

helpful, respectful and caring manner
Willing to accept Communities@Work’s core vision, mission and values and represent the
organisation within the framework
