Subject: WIC Program Manual Revision of Appendix #980-1060,
“WIC Income Guideline Table” and Appendix #980-1065
“Medi-Cal Income Guideline Table”
Purpose
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Women, Infants, and Children
(WIC) Division is notifying WIC local agencies that the WIC Program Manual Appendix
980-1060, “WIC Income Guideline Table” and Appendix 980-1065, “Medi-Cal Income
Guideline Table” has been revised.
Background
The WIC Income Guideline Table and the Medi-Cal Income Guideline Table are updated
annually to reflect changes to the poverty level ceiling percentages for federal Medicaid
programs. In California, Medicaid is known as “Medi-Cal.” Medi-Cal income guidelines
are based on 200 percent of the federal poverty level while WIC income eligibility is
based on 185 percent of the federal poverty level. The Tables are designed to assist the
local agency in determining WIC income eligibility during the Integrated Statewide
Information System (ISIS) downtime, as a resource when conducting WIC program
outreach, and to facilitate referrals to the Medi-Cal Program.

Action
The revised income guidelines are effective immediately. ISIS has been updated to
reflect the revised income levels.
